Earlier this year, I wanted to try this Rage Room activity and did a walk-in reservation on a weekday afternoon. Unfortunately, it was fully booked and the next available slot was at night. As such, I was unable to participate in this activity. This time, I had a one night stay in Mount Austin. To avoid disappointment, I visited the outlet the night before to make an appointment for the next day.
Upon arrival, I made the payment at the counter. I was then ushered upstairs where the Rage Room is located. The staff made a short briefing, following which I don a safety uniform comprising of a workman suit, shoes, visor, helmet and gloves. For hygiene reasons, I was given disposable hat net and socks. Contrary to some reviewers who mentioned that the attire smelled, I did not experience this and I was glad that it was fresh smelling and it seemed to be washed regularly.
There are photo opportunities before the start of the activity. After I had worn my attire, the staff took three photos of me and sent them to my WhatsApp afterwards.
I was given 30mins inside the Rage Room, commencing from the moment I put on my attire. There are two crates of empty beer bottles and metal batons for use. I was told to aim and smash the bottles towards the front wall and not the sides. I was also allowed to whack the two barrels using the metal batons. I took my time to enjoy and spent 20mins to unleash my rage and completed the activity on time.
I had a fun time in this Rage Room. If you want to experience smashing bottles and smacking barrels in a safe controlled environment, I highly recommend this...
Read moreWe played the Cecil Hotel escape room. It’s one of the scariest escape rooms I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know if it’s because we played it at midnight or because there were only two of us, or because it’s based on a true story, but even as a horror game enthusiast, I was scared. If you love horror games, this escape room is a must-try! It’s incredibly thrilling. The design of the escape room is very similar to the actual haunted hotel, and even the introduction video is well-edited. If you immerse yourself in the experience, you’ll feel as if you’re really in the Cecil Hotel 😂. The design of the final ghost stage is also very thoughtful—"you have to try it yourself to understand."
There’s a bald GM with an excellent attitude and service. Despite being busy, he was willing to take his time explaining the story to us, and we never felt rushed. He is very passionate and enthusiastic about his work, which is commendable 👍. The staff took photos for us during the first stage of the escape room, which is a huge plus 👍. All the staff here have great attitudes, and the design of the escape room is fantastic. It’s no wonder there were so many people when we visited. Highly recommended for horror game enthusiasts or team-building activities. If I could give 10 stars, I would give...
Read moreA money grab tourist trap. Rude staff. We are writing this review to just warn people to not waste their RM here.
We saw recommendations to go to this place, but this was the worst place we visited during our trip to JB. Wasted our money on this but at least we get to share our experience on this.
During the rage room, there were less than 9 bottles provided to smash. You are not allowed to do anything else except smash the 9 bottles and hit two big dented barrels. The childbirth experience was also a letdown because the staff was so boring and uninterested in their jobs.
Towards the end, we asked a lady who was cleaning the rage room on where we could return our rage room jumpsuit. She looked really annoyed and forcefully pulled the jumpsuit out of our hands and threw it on a chair nearby. It was extremely rude, as a person and a staff.
Overall, this was a major disappointment but if the staff attitude could improve, this could have at least been a decent experience, but I know they would never improve so don't bother...
