I stayed at Prescott for 3 days... 2 days of not having hot water, I approached the FrontDesk and they were kind enough to change from RM 716 to 718 for me, however Maintenance guy said the 22 deg cel water is common for the hotel guest. And it was only by accident I chanced upon hot water... Left is HOT while right side is COLD. I went 2 days without HOT water not knowing this. My bad.
Then on 2nd day, I grew frustrated with the slow internet both in RM 716 and 718. I downloaded the Speed test app and realised the speed was 0.8Mbps while the lobby tested at 14Mbps. I was upset and did internet tests for all floors. Rooms WiFi turned out to be pretty bad. The Manager Ms Akilah went with me to several rooms but the speed were less than ideal. In the end, I had to settle for RM304 as it offered me the best signal on my mobile data. So if WiFi access is important to you, this hotel will not be suitable for you. Ms Akilah told me they were going to upgrade the entire hotel internet. Not sure if that was to address my disappointment or they were indeed going to upgrade their internet system.
Parking was first-come-first-to-park basis. If you are arriving late, be expected to park outside.
I was super impressed with Housekeeping staff Ms Malar who were cleaning the ground level, she's the STAR during my 3-Day stay, and she greeted from her heart and a great smile. A great start to my day, or any hotel guests. I hope Prescott recognise such an asset like Ms Malar.
RM716 and 718 didn't come with toothbrush amenities and when I asked the housekeeping lady (fair indian-looking lady), she advised toothbrush payable at RM3 per set. I was appalled, both at her words and her attitude.
RM304 was a smaller room and less elegant, but the room came with 2 sets of toothbrush. Housekeeping standard was not consistent. I wonder if the Housekeeping lady at Level 7 wanted me to pay her RM3 directly... Only the hotel can verify if this toothbrush chargeable amount is legit.
Nonetheless, I had a pleasant stay, it would have been super if the hot water, internet, toothbrush (lack of) were...
Read moreI was traveling to Kuala Lumpur in March with my wife for a holiday and we chose to Prescott hotel believing we were getting a great deal. On checking in at the hotel, we were given a corner room directly opposite to the elevator. Our first impression of the room was positive since it was pretty spacious and seemed pretty clean. However, as we started settling in, we found quite a few problems. The sheets were unclean and had stains on it. The tea kettle looked like it wasn't washed for quite a while and the refrigerator and water heater weren't working. We also found a couple of cockroaches (albeit small). Since we mostly only needed the room to sleep, we chose to ignore these issues. However, to compound our misery, we were given a rude shock in the morning when we arrived at their restaurant for breakfast. While the buffet spread had enough items, there was barely anything, except bread and butter for vegetarians. We felt shortchanged paying extra for breakfast and wished we'd known about it before booking a room in Prescott. There were quite a few roadside food stalls around the hotel but unfortunately none served vegetarian. We had to settle for a light breakfast for both days of our stay.
On the brighter side though, the staff at the hotel was very courteous and helpful. The hotel looked rather upscale and room was pretty spacious. The hotel is situated about 2.5 kms away from Suria KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) and Medan Tuanku MonoRail station is only about 100m away from the hotel. Although the MonoRail network doesn't cover KLCC, Little India or Chinatown, there's another LRT station at Dang Wangi about 1km away from the hotel (5 minute walk from the Dang Wangi MonoRail station that'll take you to all these places.
All in all, if you're looking for a value for money accommodation close to KLCC, Prescott is a good deal. If you're looking for a bit of indulgence, you should...

Check in process was speedy. The crew members offered warm and helpful service. The reception team even offered us a connecting room when she knew that I came with my family members. There was a personal check in machine which can be used for Malaysians. The housekeeping team did very good job on keeping the room cleanliness and re-arranging the room on my 2nd night stay.
The hotel was located with just 2-3 minutes walkaway from Monorel Medan Tuanku station or around 10 minutes walk from Sultan Ismail LRT Ampang/Sri Petaling Line. The hotel is within the vicinity of Chow Kit area and some other offices/government agencies. It is not so hard to order e-hailing services from the hotel's lobby.
