Revisit here after almost a year ago due our last visits. It wasn’t busy on a Friday night for dinner unlike last time, you got to que to get your tables.
Priced has increased from RM 12-RM 13 for small to RM 18 for small now. Portion was still small on the traditional Chinese bowl.
What I really appreciate about Ah Heng’s food is the braising sauce — it’s not overly salty, but naturally flavorful, thanks to the careful use of spices and quality soy sauce. Unlike many places where the braising relies heavily on salt,
Ah Heng’s approach is well-balanced and wholesome. It’s a taste that’s both comforting and thoughtful, making it suitable not just for adults, but also for children and the elderly.
The only small drawback this time was that the meat, especially the spareribs, could have benefited from a longer braising time. It was a bit tougher than we remembered from our previous visit, when it was...
Read moreThis is seriously one of the best local Chinese cuisine you can find in the area. The restaurant is famous for their signature pig stomach pepper soup (胡椒猪肚汤) which is simply delicious. Their menu consists of curry chicken (咖喱鸡), yellow wine claypot chicken (黄酒鸡), black vinegar pork trotter (猪脚醋), braised pork ribs soup (生骨煲), braised pig intestines (卤猪腸), braised pork belly (卤猪肉) and a few others. You can then order a side of vegetables to go with the dishes a accompanied by rice.
The most underrated dish for me was the sesame oil claypot chicken (麻油花雕鸡) because this was by far the best claypot chicken dish I've ever eaten. It should deserve more love.
Please arrive early (before 7pm) as many of their dishes will be sold out. I'm a frequent customer and many of the dishes except for the pig stomach soup will be gone by...

25 yrs in business, and the secret to their longevity? Great simple food!
A corner shop in ChowKit area. They have these braised meat dishes. From intestines, to ribs to belly and other parts of the pork.
They also have pepper soup and herbal soup. The dishes are all well cooked and very flavorful. The beancurd skin is also great.
It’s like bakuteh, but not quite. It is like herbal soup but also not quite.
Service was fast - i went on a super off peak time though. And made the mistake of ordering all these for 1 pax. 🤭
So bring a friend or two or three and try this place! I enjoyed it!
✨ Overall Score: 9/10 ✨
