This is underrated place if you love history. This place show you the history of Sarawak. History about the origin of each ethnic in the Sarawak.
Every explaination of each ethnic detailed here. Including their origin, economic source and development, equipment, costume dress including their contribution. Some of ethnic information i can see here is Chinese, Iban, Melayu and Melanau.
Here also we can find information on the economic source and development of Sarawak from the past such rubber, black pepper and timber. Including their acedemic.
Here also display various material of every ethnic such tools, weapons, costume dress, houses, art and many pottery (that comes in many place arround the world, indicates the existance of arrival of outside people since the past).
You also can find information on many historical figures of Sarawak here.To bad no photo allowed to capture. But I understand that why. But if you interested to know the history, please do come. It was free. The place is comfortable have aircond 🙂.
I don't know the accomodation here since I only go to the museum, but I can see there are some shop located here.

• Interesting facts 》 Sibu was originally called Maling after a river cape neat its location by the Rajang River 》The name of Sibu comes from the local Sibau fruit

Read moreWe went there last week. It was free, we don't need to pay anything. The museum is upstairs, and the toilet is at the bottom. You will walk in circle, while viewing and reading.
Really enjoyed my time there, the staff is so friendly. We were scared to come in since there is a sign of "Mask is required". But the staff told us that the sign if from Covid era. So no need to have mask.
The museum has many informative topics. Really enjoyed reading and seeing the artifact there. Get to learn how different ethnic came into Sibu.
There is a sign of "No picture" so we did take any picture while circling...
