The Rinella bay is a beach mostly used by inhabitants of the island. You can have an awesome view over Birgu and Valetta from there. The swimming area is marked and it consists of a sand area in the middle and a rocky area on the right and left hand side of the bay. The water is relatively warm at the end of July and not that deep. The water is, despite the harbour proximity, mostly clean. However, having a shower after being there, might be advisable. There is a little parking area at the beginning of the bay as well as a little restaurant and a public toilet. The Ice cream car is also coming there and rings its bells when nearby. The whole beach area has rubbish bins so there is no need to leave your stuff on the ground. The only thing which might be annoying is the vicinity to the harbour. A few ships are parked behind the marked line and because of that, depending on the wind, there is a slight, foul smell of fuel in the air which is bearable and quickly vanishing though. So if you stay in the harbour area, are easy- going, and look for a place to swim, fun dive or simply hanging around in the water without paying too much attention to the ships, this place might be just right for you!

Very nice local sandy beach. Has several locations to jump into water, equipped with wooden benches to sit or lay down. Has a little path on the right, allowing to see fish above the underwater rocks. It was a pleasure to spend days here. However, a big issue is the absence of bins. There have to be many more rubbish bins available to visitors, so less rubbish is found around the beach and ends up on the sea...

Nice little bay. Avoid at weekends as heaving with people (no sand left to sit on!). Slightly misleading as visited because it said this was a dog friendly beach, dogs aren’t allowed in the bay, they are only allowed off the concrete to the right where there is no gradual entry to the water. Quite scenic. Clear water. Plenty of places, vans to buy drinks and snacks.

Very hidden and peaceful swimming spot. Very friendly residents and 1-2 food place nearby. I would recommend to be respectful and to ask questions politely if you are unsure of what you can do and not do when visiting an area that is not familiar to you.

As for Malta this can really be called a beach. A strip of sand the length of 50m and 2m wide...right next to the road. However the view is very nice. You can see Valletta a d for Rinela. Worth visiting only if you are nearby
