Is-Suq Valletta Food Market Review: A Culinary Gem in Malta - 4/5 Is-Suq Valletta Food Market is a bustling hub that brilliantly captures the essence of Malta’s diverse food culture. On the minus one floor, you’re greeted with a vibrant market, brimming with local products. It’s a treasure trove for anyone keen on exploring authentic Maltese ingredients. The ground floor is where the culinary magic happens, housing an array of restaurants and bars. Each offers a unique flavor, ranging from local delights to international cuisines, making it a paradise for food enthusiasts. The first floor is dedicated to seating and dining, providing a cozy space to savor your meals while soaking in the lively ambiance of the market below. This layout not only facilitates easy exploration but also enhances the overall dining experience. The market’s atmosphere is lively and inviting, characterized by a wonderful variety of offerings. It’s a place where both locals and tourists can enjoy a rich tapestry of tastes and experiences. Is-Suq Valletta is more than just a food market; it’s a celebration of Maltese culinary traditions and international flavors, all under one roof. A great place to check out, and visit for some respite from the searing sun and for a light lunch. There is a range of street food stalls around the ground floor: Mexican cuisine, Napoli Pizza, ‘Pasta Affair’, ‘Merkanti’ Maltese street food, ‘Pinoy’ Philippines street food, ‘The Wild Poke’ serving Japanese & Hawaiian inspired poke bowls and appetisers such as edamame and seaweed, Indian cuisine, ‘The Dragon’ Chinese cuisine, kebabs/ skewers/falafel from Konak, ice cream, chocolate and crepes from ‘Venchi’, and ‘The Burger Room’ burger bar. Most meals are around the €10 euro mark. The Wild Poke is hidden in the middle and easily missable on your walk around, but well worth checking out for delicious freshly make bowls. Sadly there is no air conditioning inside, but ample seating on the ground floor and first floor, plus a restaurant on the second floor. There is a bar serving beers and wines, and another bar for soft drinks, and a large screen at one end playing sports. Downstairs is a supermarket (Arkadia) which sells loads of food, drinks, groceries, fresh fruit and pre-prepared fruit pots, and laundry and cleaning items such as detergent, fabric softener and bleach. Very useful.

A must see in Valletta. A surprising food mall at less than 10min walk from the bus terminus. I met my sisters and nieces here for lunch last Thursday. Such a delightful place. The place was buzzing but there are seats on the ground floor, upstairs and outside. Various traditional dishes from different countries are displayed by the different crews on each stall. I chose the Turkish one, the various salad and crudités were freshly cut and I was thinking that they would make a delicious kebab. I told the chef that I was vegan and he offered to make me some Falafel to go with my lunch. It was so tasty, dipped in fresh hummus. Drinks were then served by a waiter who came to our table. I had tea. It’s a pity the cups are so small, but otherwise everything was great. Highly recommend it. You must visit, your taste buds will thank you for it! Enjoy. NewLifeKarma.

We went there three times in the terrace during our stay. Service 2/3 times was very good and friendly, last time, server was not friendly, we were waiting long to be served or just to order. Rabbit pasta was my favourite dish there, followed by the traditional soup, also i had seafood salad which was good but nothing special. We didnt expect cocktails to something we will remember, but yes, watermelon martini was just awesome. Why we came back was the fantastic atmosphere and live music which were played by lovely musicians. Overall great place to spend with your significant other or friends. This place was not very cheap, but you are in Valletta centre, so in contrast with other restaurants it was not that pricey.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I recently visited Is-Suq Tal-Belt in Valletta and absolutely loved the experience! The food market had such a lively atmosphere, with lots of delicious options to choose from. I tried the tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice. The fillings were generous, and the guacamole on the side was creamy and refreshing. I also had the spring rolls – they were crispy and served with a sweet chili sauce that was perfect for dipping. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and everything was served quickly. Overall, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in Valletta – it’s a great spot to try a variety of tasty dishes in a vibrant setting!

The three level victorian-style Covered Market has an Arcadia foodstore downstairs with fishmonger, butcher. On the ground floor you can find some of Malta’s best known restaurants such as T’ Anna Mari (seafood) from Marsaxlokk, Gululu (Maltese cuisine) restaurant from St. Julian’s, Zest (Asian fusion), Xiwi live grill. There is also an ImPasta, a Vecchia Napoli pizzeria, and an Italian Venchi ice cream stand, first on the Island. Part of the unique project in the front part of the building placed the Star Cafe (breakfast, burgers, wraps etc.) and an eatery (carpaccios, salads, platters, cocktails) called Ginger, both with a spacious terrace on the Merchant street.
