The Postal museum is located just around the corner from the Grandmaster's Palace on Archbishop street in the centre of Valetta. The entrance fee is €5, and there is also a real post office! The artefacts are displayed over three floors, and you walk up in a majestic turn of staircase, though there is a elevator should you want to save the legs. As you walk up to the first floor you will see a collection of the first stamps both in Malta and in UK, the penny stamp. There is also a model of a post office counter as it would have looked in the 1950s. The second floor has a selection of Maltese stamps and an exhibition on the postal service through times in Malta and a documentary about the postal service and Maltese history. The top floor has the most current stamp collection and memorabilia from the postal service. Down at the ground floor there is a small gift shop as well. Whilst it sounds like a rainy day museum, it does have an interesting selection of artefacts and they have a a good children quiz walk around the museum to keep them entertained. Overall a good inexpensive museum at the heart...

My favourite museum in Valletta, so far. Good value for money and we could stay however long we wanted to enjoy the artworks. At the third floor there is a post box dated from Queen Victoria's reign. Impressive! And Peppi is the official mascot of the museum. There are old letters which take you back in the past for a journey that you only heard stories about. The photographs of how the post office used to look are amazing. It was such a wholesome experience for me. And the lady from the reception was such a nice and friendly host, she even recommended some places to visit in Malta and talked about getting her own designed stamp printed, soon! Good luck with that. Thank you...

A small and charming Museum in the centre of Valletta. A special journey through Maltese popular history. A great floor with letters that demonstrate all the centuries of history in Malta. Absolutely fascinating to read a letter from 1576, Lord Nelson and a thank you to British school children for cigarettes during WWII. Well worth the entry price and charming service from Shanice. Highly recommended whether you're a philatelist or not. Interactive displays and good...
