The place is still very agreeable if you avoid the restaurants selling alcoholic drinks. The waterfront itself really need some restauration but overall the shops and other restaurants are just fine. Many families come there on Sundays to dine and walk the waterfront. There are a couple of interesting thing to see. The Blue Penny Museum situated in The Caudan Waterfront for example. Next to the Port Louis Waterfront there's another museum; the Mauritius Postal Museum. Overall in some places you may see negligence in maintenance though it is still a very nice place to have an early dinner while watching the historical docks and the mountain range surrounding Port Louis.
