A truly mixed experience that unfortunately fell short of our expectations, despite some bright spots. We had a table for four and the service was prompt and pleasant throughout the evening. The Peking duck, which we ordered in advance, was beautifully cooked and carved table-side. However, for a dish priced at Rs2000, we were surprised to see a significant amount of meat left on the carcass as it was taken away. Other dishes were more successful. The crispy pork was absolutely delicious and a standout of the meal. The beef in black bean sauce was tasty as well, though the sauce was more of a yummy soy slurry with very few actual black beans. The most disappointing dish, however, was the "Wok fried pork belly with cabbage, scallions and dry chili." We were expecting thick, juicy cuts of pork belly, but instead received what looked and tasted like strips of bacon. While the manager correctly explained it was thinly sliced pork belly and not bacon, the texture was dry and didn't have the rich, unctuous quality one expects from the cut. The menu should clarify that this is a stir-fry dish made with thinly sliced pork belly, perhaps by noting it as "Hui Guo Rou" or "Twice-Cooked Pork." This would allow customers to make an informed decision and manage their expectations, especially since thick-cut pork belly is a beloved treat when dining out. Overall, while some dishes were excellent, this one major disappointment greatly affected our dining experience.

Great choice of food. Perfect for sharing with large groups. We were 7 people and 1 dish was enough for everyone. So we were able to taste 4 different dishes while only ordering one of each. The arrowroot wantan is a must! We loved the assortment platter which was more value for money than ordering one of each entrée. Still have a long way to go before tasting every dish on the menu! Just be careful to check your bill, especially when the waiters don't note down your orders, as they may forget and you'll end up paying for 1 more drink and 1 more dessert than you had 😉

It's on the opposite of Rozi darbaar..but need to take stairs n find the restaurant on the second floor..welcoming staff..once you order the food is on the table within few minutes. No need to wait..very rapid service..waiters are very helpful. Price is hotter than the food but worth. Food is very tasty but a bit cold..not warm enough. Thankyou for the delicious food and rapid service. A bit crowded during peak hours

ALERT SCAM!

We were extremely disappointed with the service today. We booked a table for 12 persons and opted for the pre-set lunch offered. It was a total SCAM! The portions were ridiculously small, and when we questioned at the reception, one of the waitresses had the audacity to say, "It’s always like that." (To that girl: Just because it's always like that doesn't make it right or any less FRAUDULENT!) We even ordered one normal portion to compare with the "5 portions" that were supposed to be given to us in one plate. The difference was shocking—what we received didn’t even amount to 2 portions. Picture : Left is the plate for 5 portions vs Right is the plate of 1 portion)

This was a total scam and a waste of money. If you can’t provide the correct quantity, don’t lie and charge us—just ask for the proper price, and we’d prefer to pay that than be scammed like this! This completely ruined our day and lunch. Very disappointing and deceiving for a prestigious restaurant like city orient. NEVER OPT FOR THE PRE SET LUNCH. YOU WILL BE DECEIVED!! (wish someone told me that before booking for...

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been:

Frozen products are being used - I wanted a vegetarian dish and I was told that the ingredients used were all frozen. Only one simple dish had a fresh vegetable (brede). You would expect everything to be fresh when eating out at a restaurant. The chicken dish was also dried and seemed pre-prepared.

The waiters do not know what they are selling - I ordered an infusion and I was told that it was pure jasmine tea. I was surprised as I do not drink green tea at night. Finally, I was brought the only tea I explicitly said I do not drink at night, green tea. The waiter argured that it was jasmine tea and not green tea. I had to ask him to bring the package for him to realize that it was green tea.

A kitchen at a restaurant is judged by its toilet. Well, the toilet was dirty, smelly and the infrastructure there wasn't...
