So I already reviewed this place like 2-3 years ago but yknow a lot has changed since then so I figured I write a new review for it in the pandemic.
So what's it like in Memory Lane Ipoh while in the pandemic? Well for a start I notice that there's less stuff to browse through and some more tight lane were closed down and there's generally less stores/vendors to browse through but amidst of all that it's still a very cool place to go to.
A lot of vintage stuff as you'd expect and reasonably priced too (tho it is debatable). Basically like eBay garage sale but it's a market. You could find anything from outdated smartphones, trinkets, rusty tools, bunch of film cameras and digital point and shoot, used toys that may or may not contain child tears and many more I guess.
Overall I recommend you guys to visit this market if you do come in Ipoh on Sunday. Note; this market opens on Sunday from 7am to 12pm I believe so it's a tight schedule but if you committed to go here you'll find your way.
Although word of warning, SOP here is sometimes nonexistent, sometimes it can get pretty packed and you can get very intimate with some stranger so be warned of that.
Anywho it's still part of the experience and enjoy some of the pictures I took from my last...
Read moreReally enjoyed getting to Memory Lane flea market on Sunday morning. The place may be crowded with people, but the atmosphere over there is truly overwhelming.
People can shop or window shopping for antique and preloved items, as well as clothings and shoes along the streets around Memory Lane. There are ample parking spaces along the designated spaces along the road, but one has to park further away if one comes late.
The sellers will normally start business at around 0730 hrs (according to locals) and end at around noon. It is the best to come early as it will be easier to gwt parking spaces, plus it will be less warmer compared to when coming there late.
There are also restaurants around the area like Bukhara Nasi Briyani to get some breakfast while shopping at Loken or the flea market.
I will definitely come here again the next time I am in Ipoh...
Read moreAlthough Ipoh is my hometown, I've only been to lamloken (bazar karat) a few times in my life and its not really my type of scene. However,I will let you know what you can find here despite the crowded place and antiques party. For those looking for something you can't find in the malls, you can (or might) find it here. The atmosphere is priceless as it takes you back 10-20 years back as they maintain the type of goods that they sell. The reason im giving in an OK review is because it has been the same, and my reaction is also the same as 20 yrs back. It is a must visit place if you're spending the weekend here in Ipoh so do stop by to see a different type of flea market that is not easy to...
