I was really excited to go here since the restaurant looked really good but unfortunately it was not a good experience.
We ordered through the QR code and a service fee was added, which I don’t get since we had to do everything ourselves, but after I had ordered they came and told me they did not serve the dish during ramadan, which was okay.
They offered to make me something similiar, swapping the chicken with beef and the curry for noodles, which I was okay with.
First the soup my friend got served was not very hot, she started before I got my dish in hope it wouldn’t go completely cold. I am glad she did because my dish did not turn up. I asked if my food was coming soon when my friend finished hers, at this point it was 45 minutes since I ordered.
The server apologised and said they forgot and would make it straight away. Then he came back and told me they did not have it like the other server said and I said I know, but that he said you would make something different. This server then said I could get it but with dumplings instead. At this point I was super hungry so I said yes.
When my food came I asked if could get compensated for the long time and that they did not have what I ordered. The server said it was fine and asked if I would like something sweet, I happily said yes.
When he left I noticed that my dish missed the wontons (my dish originally consisted of noodles, broth, wontons and chicken). When he came with out caramel pudding I wanted to tell him that the wontons were missing, I was not gonna complain, just inform him.
When I started to say the wontons was missing he rolled his eyes at me. I think he misunderstood, and thought that I wanted to complain. But this behaviour towards you customer is totally unacceptable.
The food was not enough to fill any of us and we had to go to the Dominos after to get something more.
If this would not have happened it would an alright experience. The food was a bit cold, both for me and my friend, and it was not enough food and didn’t look like the one...
Read moreIf you're looking for a place in Ipoh that serves delicious Muslim-friendly Chinese food, Mohd Chan Restaurant is a must-visit! The food here is fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and definitely hits the spot. They’ve got all your favorite Chinese dishes, but everything is prepared in a way that’s 100% halal, which is perfect for Muslim diners. I tried a few dishes, and everything was delicious, from the stir-fried vegetables to the signature chicken and beef dishes.
The interior of the restaurant is another standout. It’s designed to look like you’re inside a theater hall, with high ceilings and elegant, stylish decor that really sets the mood. It’s a unique and fun atmosphere, making it more than just a place to eat—it feels like an experience. The combination of the great food and the cool setting made for a really memorable meal.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Mohd Chan Restaurant for anyone craving halal Chinese food in a comfortable and stylish environment. Definitely a place I’ll be...
Read moreFirst time here with a group of five a family. Atmosphere was good, decor looks great. It was rainy and bit cold that night. Service was great, servers always communicate and update about the food.
Food came out fast enough considering weekend crowd and large group bookings for special occasions.
However, the majority of the food served to us were cold. We ordered 7 dishes, only sizzling toufo came out "sizzling hot". Even the rice were served cold/room temperature.
Overall, food tasted OK, we had better. Expressed my disappointment to one of the server. She listened and responded well and present us complimentary deserts.
Anyway, I was ok with everything but a wee bit disappointed with the level of quality on the way the food served. As paying customer on a cold weekend night, I expect value for money from an establishment such as this. A wee let down but I'm ok with it. Will I come again? I'm...
