As someone who loves Costco in the US, Mexico Costco was a treat! Highly recommend this location.
Employees were super friendly and helpful - you need your physical card! I didn’t have mine and got inside with my digital card, so when I went to check out, it was a problem. But Daniel helped me by quickly taking me to the customer service desk where Amy got me a temporary membership paper and they were both so kind. Costco must just universally only hire the most wonderful people.
Onto the actual shopping: yes, this store is busy. But no worse that a Costco in a normal city. We went on a Tuesday at 2pm and it wasn’t bad at all. Check out was fast, food court was fast (maybe a 3 minute wait for both).
Definitely don’t miss out on their alcohol deals. They had some incredible sales and all around just great prices on tequilas like Patron and Don Julio. Normal prices on all the wine you find at your US store.
Unique items included their mini donuts and some specifically (probably seasonal) Mexican items like Chiles en Nogada, along with all the Mexican junk food snacks in bulk.
Food court was busy but FAST. The mango smoothie? Yes. The hot dog with jalapeños? Yes. The pastor torta? YES, omg YES. It looks like a lot of people working in the area come here for lunch so be patient but when we were here the food court was flying and our order was ready quickly.
Parking: important to note that you need to press the button and get a ticket and then scan the ticket as you checkout with the cashier. If you don’t mind parking far, you’ll find a spot immediately. And it’s a busy parking lot so be alert.
All around, as expected, a...

Your North American CostCo membership works at all locations o you can easily shop for what you need.
The variety seemed to be pretty good, we saw a lot of what we buy at home in the states available here in Cancun as well. They do accept USD and will provide you with Pesos for change. This location has signs at the checkout noting they accept more payments options (AmEx, Master card, Diner Club), but depending on the card you may end up paying full price, not your member price.
The parking lot is secured, and you MUST have your parking ticket scanned at the register for it to be free, and to make exiting easier. Even if you run in and end up not purchasing anything, you will need to stand in line to have it scanned. It is kind of funny how no matter where you are, a CostCo parking lot is a hot mess - whats up with that CostCo?
The checkout seemed quick enough when we visited, and everyone at the store was welcoming...
Read moreWe always enjoy shopping at Costco. Comparing the Mexico to USA Costco, there are some differences. Concessions are outside. You NEED YOUR MEMBERSHIP COSTCO CARD to buy from the Concession. A SNAKE-LIKE QUEUES WAIT LINE is outlined on the cement for ordering your food and drink/water/Soda. Remember to bring your own bags, to pack your goods you buy.
Bringing items into the store NO NEED TO CHECK PERSONAL ITEMS.
The liquor is in the back of the store. BETTER PRICES on liquor than the duty free at the Cancun airport! Pharmacy prices, (prescription and over the counter), inexpensive. Not all Costco price items, are lower than USA.
If you use your Visa Costco Debit card there is no exchange rate charges.
Getting to the Cancun Costco is easy. We took the Walmart bus. Costco is about 4 blocks away. There are only about 4 turns before you are in the Costco parking lot. There are sidewalks with a couple of busy intersections. The Maps - Navigation on your phone will...
