This street, and all of this passionate city will ignite the fire inside of you for local artisanal artists, culinary dishes and the overall sites sounds and smells of this enchanting city.🌺 AHHH!
We have been coming to this legendary city for over 20 years. GTO is truly a gem of Mexico.
If you don't mind waiting for the lovely locals to move through this beautiful narrow street, it is worth the wait.AHHH! BELLA!
Not only is this a part of nostalgia and the history of GTO, but it is a right of passage as a lover of Mexico. (VIVA!)
If you're into photography, I recommend putting this beautiful alley /street on your "to do" list while traveling through Guanajuato. It's absolutely breathtaking! The colors and textures of the street and surrounding area of GTO are simply irresistible! CRISTO!

Knowing the legend beforehand we and having seen pics we just wanted a photo but over the festival weekend it had hundreds of people in line. We asked before and were told it was mxn $50 to get on the balcony. We deduced immediately this would be mxn $50 each since we would each go to separate balconies. The guy telling the legend and taking pictures with your phone/camera does it for tips and he does it well and takes many great pictures. The fun for us was in the crowd, both watching them as well as having them cheer as we kissed and cheering as they kiss. It was really a great festive environment. If crowded or on the weekends they open the balcony at noon. Just show up a few minutes early and you shouldn't have to wait. It's likely not crowded during the week or when large events...
Read moreThe architecture for this city is wonderful and traditional. I could definitely see myself buying a vacation home here. The "callejoneadas" are a wonderful way to see the different alleyways. Callejon del Beso has a background story with a Romeo and Juliet complex. Better to hear the story once you are there but it is definitely a great cultural experience. I think food and general items in this area are ridiculously overpriced. In regards to these paid tours, be careful. I paid 120 pesos for a tour of the alleyways but they did not properly monitor the participants. Someone could have easily snuck into the group and enjoyed the tour free of charge. I was either scammed out of 120+ pesos or they poorly managed their organization...
