We visited tonight La Cabaña del Río Cuale and had an amazing dinner!. I am Mexican and my hubby is Turkish, so even though we come from different cultures, we both appreciate and value a great meal, which we definitely had here.
We ordered pescado zarandeado which comes with a delicious salad (fresh vegetables, berries, apples and caramelized nuts), a good portion of rice and a basket with baked bread. Flavors were great and the fish was cooked in a simply amazing way!
We also tried the mixed ceviche with shrimp and octopus, it was so fresh and very tasty!! For drinks we tried beer and mineral water.
This restaurant is a gem, it was our first time visiting them and got there due to the google excellent comments and reviews it has, which we can confirm are fully true ones.
Do no miss the chance to go and try the delicious food, the super service and nice view of the river, we look forward to visit them again during our trip but for breakfast time, which I see they recommend it so much as well. Thanks so much and we wish for you all the success to keep coming!
P.S. We went with our old english sheepdog pet and they were very nice at her also, they offered water to her which was so appreciated! We felt at home and...
Read moreThis was the best meal we had in Vallarta. Venture out across the river from the bustling downtown tourist area and check out this fine establishment on the Cuale. The grilled red snapper (Zarandeado) was served with a delicious salad. Salad included fresh berries, caramelized pecans, and apples. The grilled fish was served with a choice of bread or tortillas, and rice. Our waiter was attentive and spoke some English. The menu is also available in both Spanish and English. One thing the menu does not say is that the grilled snapper is a higher price than what is listed on the menu. The menu only lists the fried fish for $220 pesos, but our dinner was $540. We also ordered an appetizer of the fried squid for $80. It was fresh and very tender. Better than any calamari I've ever eaten in the states. Complementary chips, tostadas, and salsa were served for a starter. We had leftovers of fish to take away. They provided a to-go box. They also offer crepes and ice cream for dessert, but we were full from the main course. I don't think any of our future trips to Vallarta will be complete unless we eat at least...
Read moreLa Cabaña del rio Cuale is a hidden gem of a 5-star restaurant located off the beaten path and overlooking the Rio Cuale. Recently, (within the last 6 weeks) the restaurant has undergone a transformation with new owners, a new chef, and new wait staff. The big, fat shrimps are cooked to perfection, and the Arrachera steak is an excellent choice. Also, the house salad that comes with your main course is amazing and always fresh. The portions are perfect, and the prices are reasonable. Their lattes and cappuccinos are excellent, and they also serve fancy cocktails. What's more, every time I have visited, the food has been consistent and always excellent. The owners and staff make a genuine effort to ensure that you feel like part of the family. Gracias Ruth &...
