Im sure the rooms are great but we had a horrible experience. The person who booked us called it a "miscommunication" we arrived late, the heart attack hill we climbed to get there was terrible. My guy collapsed halfway up. I collapsed outside the house, there i lay on the concrete 40 mins recuperating. You will need to uber up there everyday. No way u can walk up there after an entire day walking the zone. Location could not be more inconvenient. Yes close, but Sooo far away. Once arrived there was no one! We waited outside calling, texting, emailing this "zane" character to no avail. Tired, drenched in sweat, and late in the night i was about to cry. Over the next 2 hours we called every hotel we found now not caring where, we just needed rest. All were fully booked, it was a nightmare. To a foreigner this would have been a catastrophe. Im mexican actually, PV native, and had plenty family to stay with if it came to that. Fortunatelly we found 1 hotel with 1 room left. It turned out awesome, centurally located. Cheaper, and just 5 blocks to everywhere, no hills to climb, so glad it did not work out at tamarindo it wouldve been impossible to move about without uber. This miscommunication wouldve ruined a foreigners experience, not cool, unacceptable. Two days later guy reaches out and yes apologizes returns my deposit and even offers my last two nights in PV free of charge or two free nights on my next time in PV. Respectfully NO, even free the location itself will have you stuggling. Im sure i wouldve stayed in room just to avoid the hike. I shouldve taken a picture of that steep hill just to give an idea but i just wanted out of there. Great if u want a quiet escape and plan on relaxing away from it all. But if u intend on experiencing the city, dont come here u will hate it. I hate to think what wouldve happened to someone on their first visit to PV. I knew exactly where it was safe to stay, others might not. Do not recommend at all. Nearly ruined my stay, first and last time i ever book with these "boutique lodging" places. Get a professional hotel imo. In the end we sacrificed the "romantic, tourist" experince for a humble old school hotel and got the traditional mexican local experience and LOVED our stay, around the corner from Guadalajara Pharmacy. Everything happens for a reason, glad this place didnt turn out, we had a BLAST in PV dont think id be saying the same had we stayed there. Be careful, know what ur getting into, i was sure this place was a scam until my deposit was returned, still from a PV native. Stay somewhere else, closer to the zone below, avoid...
Read moreWe spent a month in the two bedroom casa at Casa Tamarindo recently. We enjoyed the casa .. clean and comfortable, with a great kitchen for cooking and a beautiful view from the upstairs balcony. The property was well tended and really nice, and we enjoyed the roof top deck with dipping pool. Other guests we met there were all friendly and happy to be there. It’s helpful to to know that there are no laundry facilities on site and maid service was extra. We did however, leave our sheets and towels outside every week and clean ones were delivered. Worked for us. There was construction right next door which was a pain, but this will not go on forever. Of course, we were serenaded every day by the neighbourhood dogs and roosters, and this is simply part of life in PV. Also worth mentioning is the hill. In order to get the fabulous view from the casa, you first must climb the hill, lol. Be warned! Uber, Indrive and taxis are readily available and reasonably priced. And finally, kudos to house manager Ben who took very good care of us. Nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated that. We found owner Zane to be very responsive to our emails and will certainly return to this property. ...
Read moreMy stay at Casa Tamarindo can be described with one short word: perfect.
But let me elaborate!
I immediately felt at home here: bed was comfortable, kitchen had all the accessories I needed, water pressure and temperature were superb, and the internet was always reliable.
The neighbourhood was authentic and local, while still only a quick walk from the hustle and bustle of the heart of Zona Romántica. In fact, I quite enjoyed the walk to and from the Casa as way to start and end my days with some fresh air and exercise.
Then there was the rooftop pool! The pool was an exceptional luxury, and a great sidekick to the best views of the Bay you'll find in Puerto Vallarta!
And if that wasn't enough, there was the cherry on top… Ben. Ben was more than a typical property manager, he was always available to help at every opportunity and at any hour. I appreciated that Ben was full of recommendations (restaurants, activities, local services like laundromats etc). Ben went out of his way to make my stay memorable, and helped me enjoy all the best that Puerto Vallarta offers.
So all in all, this experience at Casa Tamarindo, my home away from home,...
