AMAZING EXPERIENCE - Great Food and Service
With my girlfriend, we chose Rosa Sur 32 to celebrate our 4th anniversary and boy, we are so glad we did so. From the reservation till the end of dinner the quality of the service given by Monica, the manager, the Chef Roger, and the whole stuff was excellent. They arranged a beautiful table, with 4 flowers (one per year of our relationship) hired local Mariachi's and were extremely attentive the whole night.
Food wise it was extraordinary, we ordered beetroot salad with burrata as a starter, which was fresh and delicious. As second dish, I had the crispy duck and my girlfriend, who's a vegetarian, opted for pasta with vegetables and a pesto made from local plant, both very well cooked and seasoned. Finally, we had mascarpone with polenta ice cream and caramelized fig, which was amazing. Everything was extraordinary.
To take into consideration, this is a Mediterranean and Mexican fusion cuisine and not the traditional Mexican experience, so if you are looking to try something with a twist this is the place.
Recommendation: if you are celebrating something make sure to mention it during the reservation, the stuff will help you out making this evening very special.
Big thanks to Monica, Roger and the rest...
Read moreHoly smokes, what can I say - from the wonderful music and inviting patio, to the friendly and professional service to the amazingly delicious food, this place checked all my food snob requirements.
The attention to detail can be found with each course. We started with the beet, burrata and kale salad - the cherry tomatoes came roasted and provided a beautiful balance to the roasted and salted pepinos.
Next up was the panuchos with duck meat. I'm now forever spoiled by light as air tortillas with bean spread, fried to crispy perfection without being oily. And the seasoning on the duck? What was that - perfectly cooked and so flavorful.
Finally, we had the taco sampler - fish, jicama(?), a crema - so good - but the star was the beef taco seasoned to perfection atop a mound of guacamole.
The mix of Mediterranean influence on the local Yacatecan food was so unexpected and absolutely welcomed!
Andrea and Paula did an amazing job and we are so happy we chose this place to visit...
Read moreWhat a wonderful gem! If you quickly walk by you'll miss it next to the larger restaurants around it, but this place is fantastic! Starting with the staff, they were so accommodating; with many of the tables reserved they made a setting for us near the kitchen, but it wasn't cramped or in the way. Once they helped us get seated, the food! Our server helped us select the best dishes we had during our trip to Merida, with unique blends of Yucatan and Mediterranean flavors. From appetizers to desserts, we really couldn't stop talking about how excellent the food was. In addition, they even had regional beers that you don't normally consider from the area, like stouts and IPA's, both of which were also excellent! We look forward to visiting the area again, and when we do will definitely be visiting our...
