Kristine Spa — Attraction in Playa del Carmen

Terrible. Went for acrylic infill to my nails. The girl who did my nails didn't talk to me for the whole time, totally unfriendly and made me feel unwelcome. She asked what I wanted very quickly and then put her head down and did the job quite distract and with no care of details. After she removed the old acrylic, she was putting the new acrylic without even using the antifungal product. I asked her if she could put it and she grabbed it and said "ah ok". If I didn't say, she would have not even used it. Then she was about to put the colour on my nails without filing or cutting them, just as they were, awful and undone. I was shocked. I asked her to cut and file them in a shape and she did, like she was doing a favour to me. She didn't clean the hard skin around the nails either. I regret that I chose this salon. Then she started talking friendly and nicely to a local customer, while to me, not a word. I am not sure I was discriminated for being a tourist or not a local, although I do speak Spanish, but I find it unacceptable and would not recommend this salon after my experience. She didn't do a good job and on top of it, is also expensive. And the following day, one nail chirped already and I had to go back and fix...

This is the best facility in Playa.

I am a frequent customer at Kristine's. They usually provide mediocre service, but after today, I will never be back. This afternoon I asked for 2 spa pedicures for my daughter and I. The "massage" that is the big perk for paying extra for the spa upgrade was laughable. But, my big complaint is that after the first coat of polish, my nails were very streaky. I expressed my concern, but was told to wait until the second coat was applied. After the first nail got a second coat. I asked for a different color, because it was still streaky. At this point, the manager (or owner?) told me that I could only get a different color if I paid more money. She said I should have requested a different color after the first coat. Horrible...
