Main website for SFER museum is pretty confusing as far as trying to figure out which location to pick/visit as there isn’t many photos. We visited this location first and I quickly realized, this was not the one I wanted to check out. 400 pezos (almost $20US) is a ton of money to walk through a museum you can see in full just from standing at the front door. That was a direct quote from the person working the door. They did give us helpful advice though! They suggested that we instead pay to go to the restaurant first, and then use our receipt for admission to the museum. This is the ONLY way I’d suggest you visit. The restaurant was delicious ! You are required to pay 600 pesos in advanced as your meal credit - if you go above 600 pesos with your food and drinks, you then pay the additional amount above 600. Be sure to review your receipt before paying to verify that they in fact have removed the 600 pesos (they forgot to do that for us but I caught it by reviewing before paying), from your total due. I managed to keep my dinner and drink to 600 pesos, so not bad considering your receipt gains you admission into the museum. The museum is quite beautiful for sure but it super small and though we visited during low season (11/12/24) we still had to deal with a bunch of “influencers” wanting to sit and lay in every single corner to take 1636729191 photos, unfazed by others who are also wanting to capture photos for themselves without someone in the foreground and background. So be sure to keep that in mind when you’re trying to decide on what location to visit. For the above reasons, I’d personally suggests folks either pass on visiting this location or just do so via your restaurant receipt, since the location is super tiny and you can walk through it in 10 minutes (not including having to wait for people to get out of your photos). Personally, I’d instead head to SFER IK UH MAY, which is in the jungle. Now THAT location is totally worth the cost! We spent 2 hours walking around taking photos. They have a net sections to walk on, a hanging bridge to cross, and you can get views of the jungle from the rooftop. It is so so beautiful and provides so many more photo opportunities. We visited that location on 11/15/24 and spent a good chunk of our time alone which meant, not having to deal with people in your photos. We also spent an additional hour at the restaurant eating, and taking photos. I’ll be sure to add a Google review for that location, with tips on how to get there affordably, for those who’d like to avoid price gouging taxis. We were told it would cost $70US one way, from Tulum central, to...
Read moreAn employee with a walkie talkie by the name of Constantino who said to represent this place, denied us access to this museum to me and my family unless I moved my car from what him and his friends with walkie talkies referred to as the guest only parking. This parking space was on the side of the road without signs indicating that it was guest only or no parking zone. He told me I had to take his word for it and if I didn't move my car he was going to have it towed. There were no signs of anykind in the area prohibiting us from parking there. Constantino told me to park ahead where it was ALSO not marked as guest only parking because it was someone else's business location and not theirs. These 4 men acted in bad manner surrounding me and my family to intimidate us to do want they wanted us to. I explained our intentions of entering the meseum and spending money there and Constantino said that he would not allow us to enter and stood in a firm stance blocking the entrance. I requested to speak to a Manager who could tell me that they actually represented this location and clear this up for us because taking instructions from someone who is not in a clearly marked uniform and with a walkie talkie felt more like taking instructions from an organized crime gang member. My family and I are very dissapointed how this beautiful meseum could be misrepresented by thugs outside of their fscilities and ruin what we thought would be a good time. Obviously this place does not believe in customer satisfaction. We do not recommend this place to anyone because this behavior is unacceptable and instilling fear in their customers should not be priority. If they absolutely do not want customers to enter their business, they sure made it very clear by sending out their security detail to protect 10ft of unmarked offroad space on the side of the road because if that space actually belonged to them, they would have it clearly marked and not pay the salary of 4 security men to act as...
Read moreThis place is a SCAM! Please avoid at all cost. Went to the so called “museum” (at reception) and ended up with a bank charge of 800 pesos two times without even going inside the museum. When we tried to process the payment of 800 pesos the first time, the connexion wasnt going through because these guys did not have WIFI. The “so-called host” who is actually a chief scammer, told us that we wouldnt be charged because there was no connexion and that it happens at times, so she suggested we tried processing the payment a second time. The second time: the same issue happens. We then decided to forget about visiting the museum, thinking we would come back the next day with cash instead. The same day my boyfriend checked his bank statement and sees 2 bank charges of 800 from these guys. We go back the same day to show them the proof of payment (2 proofs) but they refused to refund us.
Dear members of this azulik museum please know that we are among the tourists that are now aware that you guys are SCAMMERS and there’s no way you guys still have a rating of above 3 stars because a lot of people have rated you 1 star and complained about other things such as the fact that you guys overprice for 1 room visit. You guys definitely write fake reviews to maintain good rating, you SCAMMERS!
Here’s a new 1...
