Boccanera Pizzería y Cervecería — Restaurant in Tulum

We recently visited this place, and I was blown away by the authentic Italian flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home with their friendly service and genuine passion for great food.

The pizza was truly exceptional – nice crispy crust, perfectly balanced toppings, and a sauce so flavorful you could tell it was made with love. Each bite transported us straight to Italy! We also tried the burrata salad, which was equally delightful and paired wonderfully with a glass of their house red wine (which was not refrigerated- yeay ♡).

The ambiance was charming. Surrounded by extra expensive posh hotels and resort this was great value for money. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or on a date, this place is a must-visit for any pizza lover. I recently visited the Boccanegra pizzeria and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the pizza. Firstly, the pizza was quite small and not very filling. Secondly, the tomato sauce on the pizza had an incredibly acidic taste that made it difficult to enjoy. To make matters worse, the prices were quite high for the poor quality of the food.

I noticed that there were some positive reviews online, but it seems that those were from a previous management team. Unfortunately, the current management team is not meeting the standards set by their predecessors. As an Italian, I have to say that there are definitely other pizzerias out there with much better quality pizza.

Overall, I cannot recommend Boccanegra based on my experience. I hope that the management team can take this feedback into account and work to improve their pizza. There are certainly better options out there for those in search of a...

Being a family that live in Denmark (considered one of the best food countries in the world) and has travelled the world and thus have had pizza in several cities in Italy, and just about any other country considered to be great at Pizzas - we did not expect to find one of the top places in Tulum - but we did. Dough perfect, sauce perfect, ingredients fresh and authentic and to top it off a great wood fired oven to bake the pizzas to perfection. And then the service is great too.
