Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for 6 nights.
Firstly this is an excellent hotel in terms of location and amenities. I have travelled to marrakech a few times and i was surprised at how this hotel was so close to the medina and yet once inside the hotel it felt like you were in peace and tranquility. Whilst I know there are better hotels in Marrakech in terms of value for money, location, amenities and quality of service this is a winner.
We stayed in a city facing suite which was impressive and yet slightly dated although this is extremely common in marrakech. Veiw was not that nice however that fault is due to Marrakech as a whole rather than the hotel. Bedding was clean and rooms were ample in size. I really loved the large marble bathroom with a rainfall shower. Rooms were clean and bedding very comfortable.
Food wise breakfast is good though self sevice buffet. Large selection of fruit nuts etc and the usual omelette bar. The hotels restaurant's are good although we did not try the moroccan one as I knew quite a few other places in marrakech. We ended up eating twice at the indian/thai restaurant and once at the french. All in all food is good quality and filling however the only dish i was not inpressed with was a the chicken satay but thats was purely due to what i was used to and not the quality. Staff were very accomodating and freindly. Both restaurants are quite romantic.
The hotel has two outdoor pools and one indoor pool in the spa area. I was quite impressed with the size of the pools especially with the central location of the hotel. We spent most of out time by the terrace pool which had food and drink service (I would reccomend their club sanwich very tasty and filling) the indoor pool is in the spa area and heated. I cannot say how amazing it looks.
The fitness area is large however very few machines other than cardio. Would be better off swimming in the pool. But thats the story for nearly every hotel.
Overall staff were very friendly and accomodating. They were always there to help and never asked for tips. The hotel whilst stightly old fashioned has a great location and feel to it. I would definitely reccoment this hotel and would stay here again. I have given it four as a realistic rating as if you were to spend 3 or 4 times more you could stay in a better hotel. However that would not be...
Read moreThis is a great hotel in the heart of Marrakech with a great range of facilities and beautiful gardens. We booked a mini suite and we were delighted with it, especially its location overlooking the gardens. ||We arrived early as we were not informed of the checking in times by our holiday provider but this was no problem for the hotel. We were made very welcome by the reception staff and treated to mint tea and pastries in a shaded area by the pool until our room was ready. The room was exceptional, beautifully presented and in a wonderful location. One point though, the walk to and from the room involved a flight of about 4 or 5 steps outside the French restaurant and these really need better lighting as my wife nearly tripped going down them in the dark one evening. A central handrail would also be helpful, especially for older guests.||We stayed for four nights and wished it could be longer. Breakfasts were buffet style with a wide selection of cooked and continental style foods. We had an evening meal on two of the evenings of our stay. The Moroccan style restaurant was marvellous with a good selection of tagines and other foods, but we felt the food presented in the Asian/Indian style restaurant lacked authentic Indian flavours. However, the staff in both restaurants were wonderful and provided a great service. My wife treated herself to a massage and hammam in the hotel spa and felt totally rejuvenated afterwards||The hotel is centrally located so it was just a short walk to the souks and the Katoubia Mosque, or a short taxi ride to Bahia Palace, the Jardin Majorelle and other tourist attractions. Reception helped us with a taxi on one occasion while on other days we grabbed our own taxis.||We only had one minor glitch and that was when we had to cancel a pre-booked trip due to medical reasons which made one of the receptionists seem a bit annoyed. Otherwise all the staff - the receptionists, the morning and evening restaurant staff, the chambermaids, the porters, the security and the spa staff - were all great, providing a five star service with a smile and relaxed attitude. We are looking forward to a...
Read moreGreat hotel, but FIRST-||Airport information- for those coming to Marrakesh for the first time be prepared. On arrival at Marrakesh airport be ready for a shambles. After getting off your flight you have a minimum of an hour 15 mins in a giant snake queue to get through passport control ( it took our friend who came in later 2 hours)! After clearing passport control you are checked again to make sure your passport has been stamped. Done …. NO! Now you go through bag security to get out of the airport. Another 20-30 min queue with only two lanes working. Dreadful!||On return - We flew Ryanair. 1 - they don't accept your bar code on phone so you must print your boarding pass. The auto check in machines didnt work so you have to join the queue at normal check in for a new boarding pass to be issued. This takes some time. Then a walk across the airport - to a huge queue for passport control. A minimum of an hour. You can not hear the announcements over the tannoy but eventually work out that they are calling flights forward that are leaving soon. If you don't go forward you may miss your flight. We saw many people coming back who had. We were at the airport two hours before the take off time and got on the flight just at final call. At least five people missed the flight. ||Im afraid as good as the hotel was the process was so bad both ways that im never coming back.||The hotel- lovely hotel in a great position with an excellent pool. Staff on reception , Latif, couldn’t have been more helpful for the entire trip. We got a guide to take us out for three hours. This was enjoyable but we did feel it was really a big shopping trip intended to get the guide some kick backs. I wouldn’t trust the guides price quotes which were vastly inflated in my opinion.|The room was excellent and breakfast and lunch were to the standard that you would expect again with very attentive staff( Hamza being one of many) . Overall a good place to stay if you can face the horror of getting in and out of...
