Quietly tucked away in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris is the former "atelier" of world renowned designer Yves Saint Laurent. Having just opened its doors to the public as a Museum in September 2017 and off the museum "beaten track" it presents the feel of an intimate visit into the mind of YSL himself. I purchased a free ticket for unemployed people. On the website it says everyone in possession of an unemployed card can have access to it but that's untrue. At the door a rude guy refused to take me it saying only for unemployed French people. It doesn't have any sense it is in English and does not accept foreigners with those documents... The studio was the highlight of this museum, and of this 60th anniversary exhibition, IMO. I adored the desk and all the objects on view, sort of allowing the viewers to envision the personality and temperament of their owner. From this exhibit, I learned a few new things about YSL as a person and a designer, which was why I’d still recommend a visit here, despite some desirable improvements.
