I am in awe to see that many people congratulating the food. Without any judgement you guys probably haven't tasted a good italian restaurant. I went there for a breakfast and ordered scrambled eggs and annorange juice as "they didn't have any more croissant" (at 10:30am... The eggs came with a salad. This is the first time ever I go to an Italian restaurant and they don't give you olive oil or anything to season a dry green salad that tasted like paper. The eggs were below below average and had super artificial mozzarella in it. The worst thing was the bread. I was happy to see I had what looked like authentic italian bread balls. But as soon as i touched one and cut it in two I knew it was microwaved from minimum the previous day. I then requested kindly if i could have bred from the morning. The guy came saying "we don't have break from this morning here is some bruschetta bread". Of course meanwhile, my eggs got cold. I am in absolute choc and had to pay 19€ for eggs 10€ and an orange juice 9€ and the glass wasnt even full. If i pay that money for so little i wish both service and food including bread were perfect. I work closeby so i will let my clients know it is an awful place to eat. I really dont get why people go and queue there... the evenings i see the clientele and honnestly it is not a chic place...
Read moreVery bad experience. They are racist. I went there with my family and we had 2 kids on strollers. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty and we were 3rd in line after 2 couples. We waited for 10 mins and then I asked the person in front if it's going to take time for us to get a table, he said yes it will and maybe you need to go and look for another restaurant. However, since it was almost empty we waited, and then when it was our turn, they said they don't have a table for us (8 persons including kids), we said we will take 2 tables, they said they have only 2 tables avilable on the entire restaurant and each is on a different floor, we said that's OK, they also changed their mind and said they can't. The only option we had is to sit outside in the freezing weather. We took a table outside and suddenly they allowed almost over 40 guest who were waiting after us to get a table within 10 mins! Some of them are a party of 7+ and with kids! When we asked them how did they manage to get a table for all of those gusts but us, they said ok will get you a table inside! Won't be coming back for sure and to add, the food wasn't worth the hassle.way...
Read moreConvivium was our second choice due to the sushi place being closed last night. Been at Convivium many times over the years and the place has, sadly, deteriorated, in service and food quality.
Ordered two pizzas that both arrived after 7-odd minutes which is great if only they also tasted great. Ingredients were plainly chucked on top of the base, not properly baked, tasted bland. Had a similar pear and gornonzola pizza at Novikov's restaurant in Moscow 4 days before and couldn't get enough of it.
Waiters don't speak English which is a f crime in 2020. It felt like there were too many of them at all times, they were constantly walking, carrying stuff back and forth behind my back, talking loudly, we pretty much felt like leaving the moment we ordered. Christ, guys, people come to relax and enjoy the food in peace and quiet. We don't need a banging, poppy soundtrack mixed with Franco-Italian bravura in between the sauce and the dough! Not for the price tag, by any means!
Sicilian wine was very good.
It'll do if you're a 20smth who hasn't seen better but otherwise, head...
