We were in the area and looking for a bite to eat. We saw the reviews and thought that we'd give this place a try.
Walking in, we had a positive first impression. The place was busy and well decorated. However, the woman that seated us just had an attitude. It felt as if us walking in was such an inconvenience to her. Regardless, she found a table for us downstairs.
It was a little unclear who our waiter or waitress was throughout the whole service but we were able to get what we needed. The food options seemed very limited and for a particular palate. Nonetheless, the food thay arrived was flavorful. The original person that sat us was there throughout our dining experience and just brought a negative energy.
When it was time to pay, we didn't know but you had to pay upstairs. This was unclear. Furthermore, we had to ask what table number we were to make sure that we received the correct bill.
It was funny. The original girl thay sat us was also the one that checked us out and she asked the people before us paying to leave a review. However, when we reached the counter her energy completely changed.
Overall, the food was flavorful but there was a lot of confusion/things that was unclear and a rude individual that made the...
Read moreI was really excited to try Azur for my second-to-last brunch in Paris after reading all the glowing reviews. When we arrived, there was a line, but it moved quickly, they have seating on two levels.
We ordered a few dishes, and here’s my breakdown:
Pro: The berry pancakes were absolutely amazing—exactly what I hoped for based on the reviews. They lived up to the hype and were definitely the highlight of the meal. From seeing the faces of other customers the French toast seemed to be a fan favorite as well.
Neutral: The matcha latte was nice at first, but when I reached the bottom, there were clumps of matcha, which was a bit off-putting. It started well, but the consistency could’ve been better.
Con: Unfortunately, the fries were a letdown—soft and not hot. Definitely not what I expected. The Eggs Benedict with salmon was especially disappointing. The combination of guacamole and salmon was oddly sour, and the bread was stale. I was really looking forward to this dish, but it didn’t live up to expectations.
Overall, I’d say Azur is great if you're in the mood for a sweet breakfast, especially with the pancakes. However, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, hope this helps the other readers looking for a...
Read moreThis was one of the highlights of our Paris trip. We arrived at a busy time with no reservation but the servers took it like a champ and we still got a table.
The food as you can see is amazing and delicious. Seemed all freshly made. I was also glad they had plant milk supplements for the coffees, which were great as well though not that sweet. Toilet is available downstairs.
The servers were sharp, efficient, professional and friendly. They were obviously overwhelmed by the barrage of customers but they never failed to keep a smile on their faces.
We were lucky to arrive a little ahead of a huge crowd that fell in line right after us. Service was fast and all the dishes that came out were lovely and tasty. The overall aesthetic is very pretty and feminine, and women would enjoy it as it is a very feminine space as well. Also very instagrammable.
A very minor comment perhaps about the somewhat flimsy and uncomfy chairs in the outdoor seating, but perhaps this is a way to increase turnover of their overwhelming customers, and therefore understandable from a business standpoint.
Overall would definitely return next time...
