Pizza Club - St Lukes — Attraction in Albert-Eden

Pizza Club is 5 minutes (walking distance) from the Westfield St.Lukes shopping centre. Both (vegetarian & non-vegetarian) varieties of pizzas are available here; quite a few options are quite different from the standard menu items that one is used to seeing in other outlets. Have been there only once in the evening and what I gathered was that most items seem to be ordered by phone, to be collected later. One can sign in and become a member for online orders. The outlet seems to be geared mostly for a ‘Take Away’ business, though having some place within the premises, they seem to have had second thoughts and added a ‘slab outdoor bench seat’ and couple of round tables with two chairs each. Can be ideal for a ‘no frills’ meal ‘in house’ for people working nearby. Though I must say that the prices seem a bit on the higher side! In spite of requesting for a mild variety option for ‘Peri Peri Paneer’, the serving was more of a ‘not-so-hot’ chilly type but a peppery hot type, enough to reach out for a sugary soft-drink at hand, ever so often! Hope all pizzas do not have this hot ‘common denominator’ permeating presence! There is limited parking place in front of the shops and because of the dine in restaurant nearby, a little difficult to get. Fortunately, off-street parking is still not a big problem. I wish I could give ZERO for service, person taking order very rude - did not even wait to complete my sentence before disconnecting the call.

While I went to pick up the order, staff did not even bother to ask me if I had ordered previously straight away informing me we are closed no more orders, even though I was there for pick up well before closing time. They could have accommodated some orders as they had time before closing.

There was a couple who walked in while I was leaving after picking my order, lady staff asked a male staff they want to order and male staff straight away talking in their local language said “Tell them no we are not taking any orders we are closed” the couple were very disappointed and left hungry. Again there was time before official close of business hours and there was no clear sign marked that we are closed. Well I believe they were not interested in gaining business as they are just employees and were worried about closing time...

I feel a bit bad about giving 2 stars, but I have to be honest. I came in for the first time, and was being indecisive. When asked by the friendly guy behind the counter, I said if I was playing it safe, I would go with pepperoni, but also loved anything with anchovies. I also said I wanted a thin base. I ended up being talked into a "Prawn and Meat" and the guy behind the counter was so insistent, I went for a pan base (which I never do) Generous - to a fault. It was a sickly, thick, doughy pizza, with way too many flavours, and WAY too much Hollandaise sauce.

My fault, because I was hungry, and didn't clearly ask for what I wanted, but I struggle to think of anyone who would think that was a good pizza. Maybe a gamer with the munchies? As I say, you can't fault the generosity of the toppings, loads of everything - it's like Pizza Hut, but a...
