Did 2 nights with Son & Partner but prefer tent sites cause self contained is further from beach. The self contained is right next to main road so u can hear cars & trucks passing. There was dry noodles on colour bed sheets where bunkers are. Red shot cups underneath the queen bed & not vacuumed. The self contained is more like a old bach that they added over time. It is hot and stuffy inside but porch makes up for it. Bed sheets & pillows in living room is crispy white & clean. There's only 1 bedroom with bunkers & living room has 1 queen & king single which looks like it's going to collapse so be careful. Bathroom has toilet and shower but no ventilation besides a window but doesn't do much to vent the bathroom. This self contained be best suited for groups needing a base while fishing or sightseeing all day cause there's no view. Parking spot is tight. So ask receptionist if taking more vehicles.

Loved this place my daughter and I stayed one night. The lovely lady we spoke to on the phone was friendly and very informative. When we arrived a just as lovely man was friendly too! My daughter and I went to the shops when we got back realized we locked the key inside went to the office and they were happy to give us the spare key no problems! We stayed in one of the cabins we could hear the crashing of the waves soo cool! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for the night. We were close to the shared kitchen that had a code to get in and the facilities were tidy and clean too. We followed the path that was 2 minutes from our cabin, along the water that lead us to the town centre. Was really nice walk and clocked up a few steps on my fit bit 😅💪🏻

Booked a deluxe cabin. Was brilliant! Had it's own little kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, two singles. I stayed 4 nights for $590. 100% worth it! Was a 5min walk to the beach, 2min walk to the playground for the kids. Staff were friendly. Camp grounds were clean and well managed. There are other facilities available also for camping in a tent/caravan/campervan. - large communal kitchen, dining, BBQ areas. There's a TV lounge. Toilet block with showers. Laundry room with dryers, a sink/bench and a washing line outside. A waste station for campervans. Rubbish and recycling bins available. Orewa township and shops are about a 5-10min drive away. About a 20-30min walk from the camp grounds. Personally I love this place. I book here twice a year with my family.

Good location, and a clean park. And most of the staff are friendly and helpful - the cleaning ladies in particular were great. However the lady at the desk this morning (Monday 12th November 2018, 9 am) was unhelpful and dismissive. Not only did she not make any effort to help us locate some property that had been moved, but she told a bold face lie that there was no chance it had been moved because the cleaners would never have been in there that early. It was only because her dismissive attitude told me immediately that she was bull**ing that I decided to find and ask the cleaning staff, who went out of their way to find the person who had indeed been in there already and we located our property. When I went back to inform her that indeed they had cleaned it and had helped us find our property, she frequently interrupted me and simply made excuses with no apology. I hope this was a one off - perhaps she was having a bad day, or this is her first ever day working in customer service, and she has never ever dealt with another human being and so doesn’t know how to treat people with respect? Or perhaps it is simply a poor attitude and laziness with a dash of unwillingness to spend just five minutes asking more than one person. So 5 stars to the cleaning ladies, -5 stars to the lady at the desk this morning.

Overall the Holiday Park was nice and clean and well laid out, but expensive. It was far more expensive than touristy towns like Paihia or Russell, which seems a bit backwards really. And the fact that it seems to be run by the council makes this even worse and less excusable. They also stick with the disgustingly greedy habit of charging campers per person for...

The basic cabins need renovating! At $80 to $90 per night these cabins are not nice at all. The ceiling is covered in mould and spiderwebs, the carpets and walls are stained and dirty and the room had so much air freshener sprayed we could barely breathe! Despite having fans on all night we couldn't get rid of the overpowering smell.

The window close to the ceiling is covered in cobwebs and so high up we couldn't close it, it also doesn't have a curtain. So as soon as we turned the lights on in the evening the room was filled with bugs! Then you get woken up by the morning sun shining directly onto your bed and face blinding you from 6am. Not to mention the busy road noise directly behind the cabins often making the cabins shake.

We brought our own bedding as it's not provided but the bed sheet that was there was stained with all sorts of stains and was just gross.

The staff are wonderful, we've stayed here a few times and its the main thing that has us coming back. The location by the front of the beach is lovely - but the cabins are on the main road so bring your ear plugs and eye masks!

I just wish they would renovate these cabins and at least make them hygienic and comfortable. There is no need for carpets - and please put a curtain on the top window and a way guests can close it themselves so they're not eaten by...

Bit disappointing. We are regular visitors to this Holiday park from times, when it still was a Top10 park. The discount for Top10 members made the stay affordable then and the park facilities like mini put and buildings always seemed well maintained. This was before ownership changed. At this month's stay the mini put looked extraordinary sad, there is no hint or word at check-in or In the cabins, that the different recycling bins are still available for rubbish separation at the kitchen building, in the cabin we had a strong musty smell which seemed to have been covered up by using mint essential oil, still no waterproof mat or something to put footware on in the cabin and again one bedside table without light, as the plug was hanging loose with the closest socket being more than a metre away from the plug end. I had commented about the same issues at our last stay (already under new ownership), so obviously change is not seen as advisable. So another night without reading in bed... What is nice about the park is its location, just off the beach. The ease to stroll into town for shopping and eating out and the different accommodation options from camping over powered sites for campers to cabins and self contained. We will be back, strongly hoping for some...
