Orewa Beach is one of the nicest beaches I’ve been on in NZ - it’s nice and flat and very good for that exercise you may want - it’s about 3ks long so great for a run or walking and good for the dogs as well for that walk they need - also they are allowed off leash down by the Estuary southern end if beach and at the Northern end for their let loose run about chasing the ball 🥎 frisbee 🥏 etc but in between on leash ( but must say have seen a few dogs running wild between ) now this is summer months - but winter they can be off leash as long as well controlled- but it’s a beautiful be beach just to do sun bathing or look out to sea & see all the activity that’s going on these always something to look at - and there’s the Orewa life saving club that’s open for drinks & food - or if you can’t find what you like there just pop across the road - Highly...

Renowned for its gentle waves and expansive shoreline, it's a haven for families, surfers, and those seeking a peaceful retreat. The beach's promenade, lined with cafes and shops, offers a delightful backdrop for leisurely strolls, while the nearby parks and reserves provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities. One of the most busiest beach in Auckland, because it’s great for children, swimming and surfing. There is a playground, changing room for people, toilets and a change table for infants/toddlers. It’s a perfect beach and there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. There are also picnic tables but bring your own picnic blanket and sit underneath the natural shade that the lush trees provide.

In Winter, this is a quiet and picturesque beach with spectacular views on both sides (beach and harbour). You can see White Island billowing steam in the background. Water was calm and didn't seem to be too cold. There's a local coffee shop but it doesn't open until 10:30am (far too late). Plenty of places to stop and go for a walk.
