Donât even bother to buy from here. We used to come here often because it was my hubbyâs fave. Today, we ordered through Order Meal because my hubby got a promotion code for $8, and I ordered from my account. I chose a 5:45- 6:15 p.m. pick-up. Note that this is not the first time we have used the app. At 5 pm, got a call the order is ready so I said ok let me pick it up but I realised it still 5 pm and why the order is too early. So I called again and let my husband talk to them. My husband asked nicely if they can make a fresh one, and the lady started saying to us in gibberish âit is not out fault, you never use the app. I can show you how to use it our customers never had a problems yada yadaâ and her tone started becoming very aggressive at my husband (I can hear it because speakerphone). And she would not let my husband to talk and she just kept shouting at us. At the end, I took over and screamed at her back but unfortunately another lady took over and she was laughing while saying âyou just spoke to the manager but now she canât speak to youâ and at the end a person named gabrielle took over and he started saying âitâs not our problem, not our faultâ And finally he let me talked and I said âyour manager was shouting at my husband and would not let him talkâ he replied âshe didnât scream, it is because we are asianâ (mind you I am Asian too) Finally after 10 mins talking back and forth, he said âfine, iâll make you a new oneâ
For a bloody $25 meal, I am speechless.
I think why I am mad is because instead of just saying nicely âsorry, we canât do anything and let me see what I can doâ she decides to replied...
Read moreAbout two weeks ago, my nephew Alex took us to one of the stunning beaches near Auckland, following a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Sheepworld in Warkworth. We arrived at Orewa on a beautiful, sunny winter afternoon. Alex suggested we have fish and chips for lunch, to be enjoyed at one of the thoughtfully placed wooden benches and tables along the beachfront.
After settling us on the beach, he returned with mouth-watering plates of battered fresh snapper ($8.25 per plate) and a scoop of chips ($3.30). The fish was perfectly fried â crisp, golden, and not at all greasy â and served with a wedge of lemon for garnish. The chips were equally delicious, nicely salted and cooked just right. Captain Kerrâs also offers ice cream, though we werenât in the mood for it that day. Conveniently, there is free parking available just across from Captain Kerrâs.
It was a wonderfully warm and satisfying lunch on a crisp winter afternoon at a picturesque beach â a delightful start to our visit to...

I tell you what for the money one of the best fish & chip shops Iâve ever been too!
Absolutely incredible & got me addicted. Girls in there are always lovely & havenât had one fault with orders placed. Me & my young family have eaten there 3 times with decent size orders & they get it bang on every time. That first bite of the burgers honestly is just incredible. Iâve been to restaurants charging $20 to $25 dollars & no where near as good as Captain Kerrs!
Also fries & photo fritters with a bit of bbq sauce go down a treat. You will thank me later trust me!
