Don’t even bother to buy from here. We used to come here often because it was my hubby’s fave. Today, we ordered through Order Meal because my hubby got a promotion code for $8, and I ordered from my account. I chose a 5:45- 6:15 p.m. pick-up. Note that this is not the first time we have used the app. At 5 pm, got a call the order is ready so I said ok let me pick it up but I realised it still 5 pm and why the order is too early. So I called again and let my husband talk to them. My husband asked nicely if they can make a fresh one, and the lady started saying to us in gibberish “it is not out fault, you never use the app. I can show you how to use it our customers never had a problems yada yada” and her tone started becoming very aggressive at my husband (I can hear it because speakerphone). And she would not let my husband to talk and she just kept shouting at us. At the end, I took over and screamed at her back but unfortunately another lady took over and she was laughing while saying “you just spoke to the manager but now she can’t speak to you” and at the end a person named gabrielle took over and he started saying “it’s not our problem, not our fault” And finally he let me talked and I said “your manager was shouting at my husband and would not let him talk” he replied “she didn’t scream, it is because we are asian” (mind you I am Asian too) Finally after 10 mins talking back and forth, he said “fine, i’ll make you a new one”

For a bloody $25 meal, I am speechless.

I think why I am mad is because instead of just saying nicely “sorry, we can’t do anything and let me see what I can do” she decides to replied...

About two weeks ago, my nephew Alex took us to one of the stunning beaches near Auckland, following a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Sheepworld in Warkworth. We arrived at Orewa on a beautiful, sunny winter afternoon. Alex suggested we have fish and chips for lunch, to be enjoyed at one of the thoughtfully placed wooden benches and tables along the beachfront.

After settling us on the beach, he returned with mouth-watering plates of battered fresh snapper ($8.25 per plate) and a scoop of chips ($3.30). The fish was perfectly fried — crisp, golden, and not at all greasy — and served with a wedge of lemon for garnish. The chips were equally delicious, nicely salted and cooked just right. Captain Kerr’s also offers ice cream, though we weren’t in the mood for it that day. Conveniently, there is free parking available just across from Captain Kerr’s.

It was a wonderfully warm and satisfying lunch on a crisp winter afternoon at a picturesque beach — a delightful start to our visit to...

I’ve had both Chicken & bacon burger, scotch fillet burger & there beef burger.

I tell you what for the money one of the best fish & chip shops I’ve ever been too!

Absolutely incredible & got me addicted. Girls in there are always lovely & haven’t had one fault with orders placed. Me & my young family have eaten there 3 times with decent size orders & they get it bang on every time. That first bite of the burgers honestly is just incredible. I’ve been to restaurants charging $20 to $25 dollars & no where near as good as Captain Kerrs!

Also fries & photo fritters with a bit of bbq sauce go down a treat. You will thank me later trust me!

Thanks to Captain for your amazing work keep it up team I wish you all the best & I will definitely be a...

Went to Orewa beach on a public holiday and boy my friends and I were so glad that these guys were open for business. The fish and chips craving was real and I ordered the crumbed snapper, a sausage, tartare sauce and of course chips. Well seasoned chips and enough for three people. Crumbed option costs 80c more but it is worth it. Fish was great as was the sausage. Tartare sauce wasn't that good - probably should switch to a better brand or make it inhouse. Lemon wedges were truly missed. There was a forewarning regarding the wait for orders but it wasn't too bad. There is some seating indoors and outside but it was way too hot to eat in the shop. Easy fix though as the beach is right across the road. I'll be going back here on the next beach day at Orewa!

Whole order was disgusting even my dog wouldn't even touch it and she would literally eat anything Ordered 2 scoops of chips yet barely got 1 scoop ordered snapper and that was barely up to the standard of basic fish also pretty sure it's not even snapper and the potato fritters had raw potato in them basically the whole order felt like they just took it out of a fridge and microwaved it but not enough to actually heat it up and then they over salt it to cover it up no clue why all the fish and chip shops up here are so inconsistent you either get great food or it's inedible but this shop is one of the worst
