A great spot, convenient, lots of available parking and heaps of space across the fields. There are rubbish bins on site, unfortunately some people choose not to use them & I usually do a little rubbish pick-up on my visits. There is also Smith's Bush there which is a great little set of boardwalks through the bush, a perfect little walk for hot days & the fairy tree is so cute for little ones to find.

Cool getaway from the urban traffic, surrounded by trees and bird churping, excelent place just to relax and get away from the urban madness for 5 minutes. Nice sanctuary for native bird life surrounded by a nice cricket club and food areas, the boardwalk is sturdy and fit for the engagement of the native fauna.

Usually great, but quite a few things like the big slide & walkways shut down at the moment. Has a decent kids bike track, a big playground with a flying fox & a little kids playground + public toilets. On the other side of the carpark is a lake with ducks

There is a lot of confusion caused by people's misleading posts & photos about what & where Onewa Domain is

NOTE: Auckland City Council URL only shows Onewa Domain as being the Sports Fields, which include. Barefoot & Thompson Netball Courts & Stadium Cricket field & clubrooms Rugby fields & clubroons- Home to North Harbour Rugby Union Club

ONEWA DOMAIN IS NOT Onepoto Domain at the bottom of Onewa Road. IS NOT Orewa Beach IS NOT Smith's Scenic Reserve - although that is next to Onewa Domain

ONEWA DOMAIN DOES NOT HAVE A playground A lake Wetland birds A beach A bush - Smith's Reserve does A walking track - ditto A bike track - ditto Public toilets - but the Sports clubs when open do. Great food (according to one person). The sports clubs...

The bush walk is the highlight of a trip here. A great place to being the kids, you can take a quick jog or leisurely stroll around the bush admiring the huge trees and various plants and bushes. Despite being very close to a major motorway it's surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Allow a couple of hours to amble through the walk and totally take it in.
