Poenamo Hotel — Hotel in Kaipātiki

I booked 7 rooms for 4 days early February for a National Sporting Tournament - During these tournaments the athletes are given a strict Menu that assists us in ensuring their energy levels are right. With the menu comes a lot of preparation and cooking.

I was told at the time of booking that each room we booked had ovens. When I arrived at the motel, their interpretation of an oven was a "stove top". Due to this - we have to rearrange the whole menu, this meant we lost roughly $400-$500 worth of food.

Little things to note - the spa was out of order, one of the doors on one of the rooms was broken, each room wasn't equipped with the correct amount of cutlery, cups ect. Bathrooms weren't very hygienic, and we had no hot water on the Saturday night. I booked the BBQ area for 2 events and when I went to ask how I can access the area, they said they didn't have one, and was handed a hobman to cook a BBQ for 30 people. We were told things would be fixed, they definitely weren't.

The accommodation is right next to a night club - music pumps until 2-3 in the morning and you can hear everything.

I left a book on my bed (my fault) but instead of putting the book on the side draw, they made the bed and left the book in between the sheets? Also instead of taking the dirty cloths from the kitchen, the cleaners thought it was OK to leave them in the corner of the bathroom.

Positives - there was 1 nice lady there who did her best to help me because she was so embarrassed and the beds were comfortable.

6 of our rooms were close by with 1 room on the other side of the facility.

We paid $5,660.00 to stay there - for the loss and inconvenience they gave us $300 back - pretty piss poor! Our campaign was at a loss for staying there.

It was not the best experience and we definitely will not ever be coming back, nor will we recommend this facility to anyone.

Drive an extra 5 minutes up the road and...

Honestly... people are full of nonsens. If they want better then they need to go to other places. I didnt find anything wrong ...

There was just ine thing that i wish was better is to have the option of checking in earlier like 12 instead of 2pm ( but needs to be requested) i was at a course course the whole day and hubby and kiddie had to keep them self busy. Wouldve been nice if they couldve checked in earlier and rest a bit and work at rhe desk in the room.

But.... my and our experience here was amazing. I didnt go and look for problems. Seriouly people... have issues. I was so tired after my course. We went to the amazing bush restuarant close to the hotel. Came back.

The beds are amazing.! The pillows are amazing! Cleaness was amazing! Service was amazing! Shower was amazing! Quality if the pillows is beyond amazing The beds are beyond amazing.

Wish i can sneak them into my home lol..

I had thee best rest for the first time in 2 weeks as i had a big operation and rhis hotel's rooms was just everything i needed. I didnt need a fancy hotel. I needed a place to be safe, a bed that gave theee best rest. No back sores or neck ackes, sore body due to poor beds and pillows.

I found them super accomodating.

Will be back with my family as rhey would live the pool, the play ground. The restuarant. A zoo trip and the beach.

The pictures on their website are 100% deceiving. This was the worst experience we have ever had in 30 yrs of traveling. The room was nasty, carpet looks like it had never been cleaned, dirt all over (we left our shoes on). The walls were dirty and grafiti in a couple of spots that you couldn't miss seeing, and a smelly faucet. The door frames looked like they had been kicked in. Curtin's half hanging. The locks wouldn't work because of the door frames. Security lights with broken bulbs. I would not recommend this hotel to others, and I wouldn't stay there again if it was the last place before being homeless. Here is a more detailed breakdown of my experience: Amenities: The room had basic amenities, such as a bed (bed basically on the floor, sheets stained), TV, and a bathroom (shower with orange water grim built up), dried pee around toilet floor. The pool had grim in the shallow ande deep end. Their listing stated a continental breakfast - lie - nothing to be found. The restaurants either opened later in the evening (bedtime or never opened).
