I have been enjoying this library since the first I set foot in Wellington. Getting your membership is easy and fast, you can choose the type of cards with different cute designs. The staff is very helpful on this. They have many collections, including magazines, movies and audio. The racks are neatly displayed and I really love the kids’ section. You can easily do the self-service if you want to borrow, return, extend the books. Otherwise, many staff is ready to help. You can also easily navigate yourself to get your borrowed items from the reserve. If you have a book club, you can borrow up to 10 copies of the book. Not long ago, the library announces that they don’t imply fines anymore for late return but everyone is still strongly encouraged to return the items on time so others can enjoy them as well. There’s a cafe in the area which serves lovely coffee and munchies.

A great library to hang about during your lunchtime, weekends or even with the family. There are lots of genres from kids through to adults and your regular dvds etc. There is also a cafe downstairs for your caffeine fix. Computers with internet access are available on both floors and lots of seating around the library. You need to be a resident in Wellington or working within the region to qualify for a library card and books can be reserved online for an easy pickup when available.

Whilst a smaller temporary library, what it lacks in space and titles it makes up for with a great cafe. Enjoy an afternoon catching up on magazines or exploring new fiction for the months ahead. Good inner city location. And if you're in town looking for a unique shopping experience pop up and see us in Kelburn for brogues, jeans, tweed and classic with a twist attire at NicolaHawes.com . Enjoy your stay.

Terrible design, just as bad as the Johnsonville library (same loopy designer?) I was so looking forward to browsing the books at what I thought was going to be the main interim CBD library. Same poor signage but even worse, hardly any books. Is a cafe really more important than space for books in the CBD? There are plenty of cafes already. So much space is wasted, and the shelves are so low that there is a tiny collection eg the cafe is larger than the whole adult fiction space, there is only one Grisham book (first library I have seen which such a small collection) and the biography section it pitiful. I gave up after that. Please don't let these muppets have anything to do with the main library replacement as they have failed 2 out of 2 with the latest libraries, not to mention that the the main library building only...

Great central location. Nice big and modern space. There’s colour and black and white photocopy services as well as a cafe inside the library by the main entrance. There are charging ports around for your gadgets or laptops, WiFi is free but lately it’s impossible to get a connection- disappointing as I love studying in the library away from distractions. Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Ambiance here is quieter than the smaller library on Manner Street.

UPDATE: Since the smaller library closed, it’s been a real challenge to ever get a desk to work on here. The library is always limited for space. Wish the other library was still around. This place has become small and not a quiet place to work. However the wifi is working :) Hoping the actual main library site will...
