My stay wasn't that great. As I booked for 2 nights, stay in their King Studio. And requested for parking too. They charged $30 per day just for parking.

Then the room was extremely dim. They had 4 florescent lights tucked into the edge of their ceiling. There were 2 other light housing but no light switch to brighten the room. I asked if there were other ways to brighten the room, their staff suggested more lamps. The only place that was brightly lit was the bathroom. (My photos have been digitally enhanced to show more light. It is a lot darker in person).

My room also had a large structural beam in the middle of the room, unlike the pictures found in the listing. There was no room phone, and I had to go back downstairs to reception to make inquiries.

I booked the room with 1x Extra Large Double bed. Turns out it was just 2 single beds pushed up together, 1 of the single beds was a lot firmer than the other.

The room has a kitchen with it, the stove top was not that clean.

There were no batteries for the TV remote. I had to use the batteries from the ac units remote, which, when tested, didn't even work. Would not turn on. The room was provided a portable heater, one of those $20 heaters from The Warehouse.

I wouldn't...

Well where to begin.. staff at the counter were nice. Went to our room and found ac didn't work bedside lights didn't work. Reported to staff first thing in morning as it was late and nobody at the desk by the time we realised, staff moved us to another room.. the room was clean well presented and everything worked. We were happy. The down side of this place was that we requested a refund on another room we had accidentally booked and contacted them straight away when we realised. They said they need us on-site as they needed the card to give us a refund. When we arrived the lady didn't know how to do a refund which was fine, as she said come back in the morning and we will get it sorted. Came back in the morning and another lady was there and said it will be in your account on Monday. Waited till Tuesday and nothing so we phoned them as we had now left. They said they couldn't find the booking and requested the confirmation email. Sent it through. A week later we contacted them as we hadn't seen the money or heard back. They said they were struggling with completing the refund. Now it's been over a month and still nothing... this is very upsetting as they started off so well.....

Booked for one night. Found a 3.5 cm long, red, american cockroach in bed. We got offered a new room, which we accepted. The new room had an obnoxiously loud ventilation system that made the room really cold. We asked the reception for compensation, but was told to email the management as the reception couldn't help us with this. So we emailed the management and recieved the reply that they outsourced the cleaning, were terribly sorry, and never had problem with "that particular room" before. We did get offered a free extra night of stay and a room upgrade on our next stay, if we booked within 12 months (which for us is useless since we're from across the globe on holiday and odds of us returning so soon and to this particular hotel is non-existing).

When we went to check out the morning after, the reception was unmanned and we tried calling the telephone numbers as instructed on a sign, but noone answered. We checked out by leaving our key with a note written on a napkin since we had literally no way of checking out properly.

Btw a lost keycard is charged 70$ so if you have to check out with a napkin like we did, you better pray it isn't lost or you will be...

(2.5 stars) The location of this hotel is good: it’s right in the centre of Wellington, so an easy walk to Victoria University. It has two badly signposted exits, one onto Lambton Quay (ground floor) and one onto The Terrace (third floor). Understanding this will save you a lot of stairs. The rooms feel old and small, but the bed and pillows were comfortable and I could open a window on the twelfth floor. The bathroom with blue theatre-style drapes coming from both sides made me feel like I was awaiting surgery, but it was both accessible and clean. While the sign said opened in 2016, the lobby decor (it’s more like a long corridor) and wooden pigeonholes behind the often unattended front counter made me think of the 1970s. Don’t expect a dining guide in the rooms, though there’s plenty of cafes and restaurants within a few blocks. Plonk was the best I tried nearby across a two night stay.

It used to be so good! When I stayed here a few years ago it was so nice, but now it's just a bit run down and not well maintained. Chipped paint on the walls, a missing button in the shower, gross red (blood?) stains on the chairs, etc. The reception is also only open from 4pm to 6.30pm and I never recieved late check in instructions or was told to arrive before 6.30. I had to call an emergency number to get my key from a lock box and didn't even get a wifi password....I'm so disappointed, as the location is great but based on my last experience I am never going back.
