Went out to ‘D4 On Featherston’ last night to celebrate my birthday and have to say we were very disappointed. On arrival we loitered around but were not approached and so we chose a table and sat down. Being a ‘restaurant / bar’ it was unclear from the start whether to order from the bar, or if tables were waited on. The staff were not busy but after making eye contact with them several times it became obvious that no one was going to approach us. I went and found menus from another table. During this time staff seemed to be bringing menus and water etc. to other guests but it was if we were invisible. After choosing what we wanted I finally got the attention of a waiter as he passed and asked if we could order. He was so reluctant to do this that I actually asked him if he would prefer me to order at the bar. We both ordered a stone-grill ‘trio’ which arrived after about 30 minutes. The first thing we noticed that there was a huge portion size difference between our two plates. In particular the portion of lamb on one plate was about a third of the size of the other! When we finished again the service was very poor. Although we were obviously finished, the waiter walked past and attended to other tables close by, at least 6 times before clearing our plates and asking about desert. I actually contemplated taking the dirty plates up to the bar! Again it felt as if we were invisible. Overall very disappointing experience – the food was average and the service was basically non-existent. Sorry, ‘D4 On Featherston’ you...

Have come a couple of times for burger lunches with some colleagues and not had issues, however with my most recent experience I doubt I'll be returning. Yesterday as a group we ordered some burgers, half of the burgers that came out the mince patties were raw in the middle while others werent (definitely tasted raw) so I asked for it to be cooked more however was met with a rude response from the lady serving saying that's just how we do them "medium rare" asking if i wanted it cooked more and i said yes. She then passively aggressively returned the burger with most of the filling gone and just the overdone remainder of the patty and some lettuce and tomato - no cheese or anything it initially came with. In the interests of time I didn't address it until I went to pay to let the lady serving know but was yet again just met with another rude response. The attitude of the lady serving us definitely tarnished our...

Love the atmosphere of D4 and been here several times for different occasions over the past two years, so I think this is a balanced review. Usually service is prompt and kind however tonight's was unacceptable. A group of 6 of us came for a drink and were told by a young girl that we could sit anywhere. None of the tables were set up for 6 so we walked around to what the boss said was the reserved area so we cant sit there, so the girl greeting us should have just seated us in the first place. When our drinks came she didn't ask who had what but just unloaded the drinks in one spot. She threw a coaster across the table at my friend instead of walking across to her and putting the coaster then the drink down. Earlier this year I had a lunch with a friend here and the burger was lovely, however the fries were so overly deep fried they reached both brown and soggy which does not make for...

Delightfully friendly and helpful staff, even checking with the kitchen to find out the finer detail of the menu. The tasting platter of beers from the bar was an excellent facility, given the wide range of craft beers on offer. The barman was knowledgeable in helping select them. The food was good, I had the hot pot chicken pie, which was spot on and very filling. All up a very good place. 9/2022 update Taco pork sliders wonderful Good range of beer for a tasting tray. One major problem though, the very expensive whisky had been watered. The Glendullan 22 is meant to be 62.6%, its certainly below 50%, you can shake it and there is no beading. It tastes under 46%, you can hold it in your mouth without discomfort. There is no way this is 62.6%. Won't be purchasing whisky here ever again.

This is a more modern slant of an Irish bar. Also a great sports bar with an impressive projected screen and other tvs around the place to see the game. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. I certainly recommend the steak open sandwich and the Loaded wedges. The hot wings are fine too. There is more to life than Guinness and Magners here, with many local and international beers to choose from. All of which can compliment the food well. Staff are wonderful and really know how to pour beer. They have won Guinness pouring awards and are great hosts to those new to town. All in all they have done well in ditching the stereotypical Irish pub vibe in favor of a modern pub with great Irish hospitality. No matter who you are, everyone can be Irish here.

Went with my friend and we both enjoyed the stone hot plate experience. I loved my steak - rare and closer to blue. Please be aware that the diner "cooks" their meat on the stone hot plate. Reasonably priced I say for 200gram prime cut with two choices of veges or chips or salad for $27. We also had two desserts, house special that was amazing! We should have just shared one but because of special occasion also enjoyed the creme brulee. We had an entertainment book voucher so enjoyed one main for free.
