It's a small museum, but packed with loads of things, including quite a few things for kids to do. The entrance and ship are wheelchair accessible, but I don't think the upstairs audio visual and displays are. There's lots of information, and quite interesting stories and history of this very well travelled ship. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to go onto the ship the day we went, but apparently it is often open. But you can walk the length with good views of the hull, rudder and you can walk part of the way up the gangplank to view into the main deck area. There's a Lego area for kids to play, and some toys in most areas of the museum. And additionally, some dress up areas for photos. We only had a little time to explore (we stayed about 30 minutes), but you could stay much...

Fantastic visit to the Edwin Fox Ship and Visitor Centre this morning. A fascinating museum where the history of this amazing ship, it's passengers and life after serving as a convict and immigrant transportation ship really comes alive. Extremely well laid out with lotsof interesting artefacts, family stories and information about the varied and long life of this amazing vessel. So great to be able to walk aboard and underneath her to really get a feel for what life was like on-board when she was in use. Definitely well worth a visit if you are visiting Picton. Groups can even book a private tour and tea! Lovely friendly and helpful staff. My second visit and I learn something...

We stumbled upon this very unassuming historical artefact. Thank goodness we did. The Edwin Fox is steeped in history. The museum upstairs was very interesting with a good documentary video.

Then downstairs and into the dry dock. An instant journey back in time. Unrestored in the main, but all intact. You could feel history just embracing you.

If you only have half an hour I can recommend a visit. For me this was a real gem. A piece of living history, unrestored, which made it even more โ€˜realโ€™.

Thank you to all those Pictonians involved in this. The best investment of a shilling I...
