Farro Mairangi Bay — Attraction in Upper Harbour

They are very rude and have contacted them on instagram with no replies, which usually they do make a reply and now they don’t. I think they may have been annoyed in my honest customer queries. I have patiently waited.

I am an Italian cuisine enthusiast and particular enjoyed farro for their range of offerings including cheese, high quality pastas, and more so they sell Guanciale. It appears their recent Guanciale were smoked and not cured which is not as traditional as I think or have heard to be. Although smoked Guanciale has become maybe popular in Italy recently, I think in the past the Guanciale they have stocked were much better and just kindly pointed it out to the customer service team. It’s more about authenticity and offering traditional high quality ingredients here…

Due to the service, I may not visit this place anymore (mainly Marangi bay and Smales farm store as I live on the shore). I normally use Farro as a supermarket to get high quality ingredients and help satisfy my Italian cuisine cravings. Now they do not offer the best quality products and have poor customer service and communications, indeed they are overpriced. They served better and offered better before and I recommend reviewing their service attitudes, and of course using their USP and differentiation at the best which is to being a “high quality organic supermarket”.

Beautiful clean and spacious store, great fresh produce and other products; some good specials at times (the special prices are usually on the fruit and veg. The other products can be expensive.) Friendly and helpful staff; in one instance, a staff member even gave me full details of where I could get a particular veggie that they didn't have in their store at that time - and, thanks to her accurate directions, I found the tiny little greengrocers, and bought that elusive veggie I craved. Would like to thank her for that, if I could - definitely a 'going above and beyond the call of duty' moment. And for a bit of contrast: that posh nosh veg place further up the road actually advertised the fact that my elusive veggie was in stock. Drove all the way out there; you guessed it. No one had ever heard of it. 'But you have it in stock!' I almost wailed. Obviously it was a ninja veggie. What began as a wasted journey, turned into a fruitful one; I went down the road to Farro Fresh, and their lovely helpful staff member...

I visited this particular branch 26.07.2020 during lockdown and their hygiene implementation is good. Staffs are really organised and seems like even if we are under this unfortunate event, they make the most out of their job by being a good team. It showed like they are all good friends. They’re all accommodating. Aside from their good team, I really liked the grocery section especially the ready made food. The potato au gratin is my faveeeee! Would come back for some more. I would order the spaghetti as well but that time it’s only available for family size and I am my only family. Lol 😂 😂😂😂 but would come back again! The pastries they offer is also good! I fell in love with the apple crumble pie. The vanilla eclair that I had is very tasty too! Probably a tad dry for my liking the bread itself, but it all compensate because of a good Pâte à Choux filling, really good!!!!! I would still buy it! Thank you,...
