UPDATE: I took the guitar back as I don't know enough about setting up guitars to mess with the truss rod. The young dude in there was super helpful and fixed it on the spot. I enquired about practice amps and ended up buying one I hadn't seen in the many reviews I'd watched, thanks to his recommendation and awesome demo - it's a fantastic sounding amp. Super knowledgable and helpful due, so I'm bumping my initial review back up a star.
INITIAL REVIEW: Staff were super helpful and gave me a good deal on a new guitar. Said guitar had to be ordered for me - I confirmed that it would be a brand new guitar in box but when I arrived to collect it I found it had been taken out of the box for some reason. May not seem like a big deal but I'd never bought a nice guitar like that before and I was robbed of opening up the box of my new prized possession. I basically got a second-hand guitar. I also found out from watching an unboxing that I was not given the other contents of the box - lead, manual with important setup information etc. I need that information as the guitar I received has an incredibly buzzy lower E string. I should have said something at the time of purchase but thought it might look like I was being a bit precious but in hindsight I don't think I was. I may as well have...
Read moreVery bad experience. A week ago, I asked a sales person help to buy a Yamaha blue tooth adapter, he confirmed me that model is not included a MIDI cable. So I have to wait to see the product( they need to book from other store). During this week, the price suddenly increased from 99.00 to 119.00, but no one ring me to tell this change. When the product is arrived, the gentleman told me he is wrong, I am right. There is a cable. However, when I tried to confirm the price, he told me I need to pay 119.00 in lieu of 99.00. Because the sales person gave me the wrong information, the client need pay more. Do you think it make any sense. Following the sales’s response” All Yamaha product increased 20%”, I checked the price from Aussie and US, I do not see any increasing from there. Also, this product is a old model, not a new one just imported, please any one tell me a reason why the price changed? I suggest this company change name to “ Money work”. I will not buy anything from this shop. As their really...
Read moreI came here to buy a guitar not too long ago as their shop in Westgate has been closed. I called up earlier and was told the guitar was available. The gentleman who spoke to me was friendly. When I arrived at the shop, obviously it was the same gentleman who attended to me. He was young, understanding, patience and knew the customer's need and requirement. However someone came out from the back of the shop. Obviously he looked much elderly. I presume he must be the manager as he acted like one. Then the look of his face and his unfriendly stare at the customer will drive you away. Appears he woke up on the wrong side of his bed. If not for the young man I would have walk out and buy the guitar from Rockshop just a few shops away. I guess Rockshop will be my next stop for any musical instruments.
Just a note, the personnel at MusicWorks, Westgate gave the best service, from manager to sales personnel. Unfortunately they are closed for business...
