Fun games,
BUT! When we went the escape room and the floor games were out of action due to rain flooding the building. Which would be fine, but no compensation for this was offered.
We spent most of our 70 minutes figuring out how to control the games. I think for the price charged you need to receive two hours at least to get some enjoyment out of it. For us it was pretty much a solid hour of tutorial for one game and then our session was pretty much over.
Don't play the two player racing game - its pretty retro and you are essentially doing nothing. This also took over 10 mins to set up.
My advice is: have a timetable of how long customers want to spend on what game - then get the games loaded and set up while customers are already busy playing one game - so when we go to the next game its already waiting for us.
We spent $160 between the two of us an essentially paid that for an hour messing around with controllers.
The girl working was really nice though - and if the prices were reduced or times extended I would probably come back for more (now that i have done a tutorial on the game I didnt really...
Read moreOverall, we had a great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome. However, we were disappointed with some miscommunication regarding one of the games. The lady at the front desk, who we believe is the owner, initially informed us that a particular game had a multiplayer option, which influenced our decision to purchase the $80 package. Unfortunately, when we got to the platform, we were told that multiplayer was not available for that game. When we asked about the inconsistency, she denied saying it was an option, which felt misleading.
Additionally, we felt somewhat rushed through the experience ( by the owner ). While we appreciated guidance, we would have preferred more space to enjoy the games at our own pace without frequent interruptions. A more hands-off approach would have made the experience even better.
Despite these issues, the venue itself was enjoyable, and the staff was otherwise helpful. With clearer communication and a more relaxed approach, this could be an excellent...
Read moreI took the kids in to VR Voom over the holidays. We really enjoyed the experience. It was great to see they had free parking in a small upstairs car park and the staff were friendly & helpful.
The only reason it got 4☆ instead of 5 is that there seemed to only be one staff member helping people out. When one thing had finished & we wanted to move to the next, the guy was busy with other customers & there was a bit of a wait between each experience. This is understandable tho given how businesses have been effected by covid & the owner may not be able to pay extra staff, it wouldve been good to have another staff member assisting tho. There were also a few out of order machines which my little girl really wanted to try as they looked like good ones for smaller kids. Not a major at all tho as there were others. Overall it was a good experience, and I'd say worth what we'd paid especially if you get a grabone coupon. I'd recommend The VR Voom to anyone that can't afford the huge prices at places like Rainbows end or...
