Delight Spice Indian Restaurant. — Restaurant in Waitematā

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at Delight Spice Indian Restaurant, and I must say, it was a truly disappointing experience. From start to finish, every aspect of this restaurant left a lot to be desired.

Let's start with the food. It was tasteless and lacked any authentic flavors that one would expect from an Indian restaurant. The dishes seemed like they were prepared with little care or attention to detail. The spices were bland, the curries lacked depth, and the overall quality of the ingredients was subpar. It felt as if I was eating a poor imitation of Indian cuisine rather than the real thing.

The service at Delight Spice was equally dreadful. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and unattentive. It took an incredibly long time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive at our table. There was a complete lack of efficiency and professionalism among the staff, which added to the frustration of the overall experience.

To make matters worse, the customer service was absolutely abysmal. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the food and service, the staff seemed dismissive and unapologetic. They showed no willingness to address our concerns or make any effort to rectify the situation. It was evident that they did not value their customers' opinions or take any responsibility for their shortcomings.

Overall, I strongly advise against visiting Delight Spice Indian Restaurant. The tasteless food, abysmal service, and lackluster customer service make it one of the worst Indian restaurants I have ever had the misfortune of dining at. Save your time and money and seek out a more authentic and enjoyable dining...

We booked through bookme for Sunday 5 PM. However when we reached there it was closed. The owners deflected the issue to bookme. Bookme confirmed that it was restaurants fault. We wasted our time, drove all the way from east Auckland, and paid for parking. All down the drain. The customer service is poor and it aligns with other comments you will see on other platforms as well. We were looking to host a larger group in Newmarket in an Indian restaurant and hence thought of trying this place. Good that we came to know the service is poor this way. Not recommended! Between, almost a week later, their website still gives misleading information! Please see photo attached. Update: 17 Feb 22 Your website still says you are open on Sunday 5 PM. Misleading people! Do not use philosophy. We support plenty of businesses like yours and will continue to do so. You did not send any email upon reservation, only when I emailed you standing outside your restaurant. Wish you were so proactive in replying back to my emails. We gave you time. Bookme has confirmed it was your fault and they refunded my money kindly. I have the email. Good luck...

There is no consistency in there food. Me and my wife had chole bhature and sweet Lassi last to last weekend. Food was very good that time. So this time I went there with my parents and kids and spend over $90. We order chole bhature, bedami poori with aloo sabji, fries, sweet and masala Lassi. Bhature was very very oily and chole was very basic not even texture was dark what we have eaten before. Lassi was thin watery not thick what we have weekend before. We didn't drink Lassi and left it there and tell the guy who normally serves customer that Lassi was very thin like water. He listen and start doing his cleaning and left. Didn't said any thing at all. You will get good food sometimes if you are lucky, have tried many time but every time there is a different taste. So consistency with there food is a big issue. Will not recommend and visit there again. And on the top of that when ever I went there and dine in we have to ask for tissues...
