There are some shops around Bryggen showing David's pieces, but I was truly captivated when I stepped into the Gallery. At first glance, David's depiction of the Aurlandsfjord reminds me of the impressionist drawings that focus on feeling and emotions.
I actually didn’t even realise the artist himself was in the room until I checked the Instagram profile of the gallery. After sharing how I feel about the paintings, David graciously took the time to walk me through the stories behind his work. Beyond the stunning fjord and Bergen landscapes, he also explores modern geopolitics and human connection with his art. I was especially struck by his Crowd series and a thought-provoking piece about the desire to be "the chosen one". David also showed us his original paintings and photos taken from the mountaintops above Aurland, where many of these scenes were painted.
The gallery is the hidden gem in this UNESCO site. While Bergen might feel overrun with mega cruises and cruise crowds, the gallery will definitely bring you a different facet and a deeper dive into the city. Stop by when you...
Read moreWe met David, the artist himself of The DMG Gallery when we dropped in to browse at the art displays and to look for unique hand drawn fridge magnet. It was such a great pleasure to meet David as he was really warm and friendly. He engaged us in some really good conversation of his art and what some of the themes and messages of his art.
The gallery is filled with lots of good vibes, paintings and great stories behind the drawings. I enjoyed talking about some of the art pieces with David. I especially enjoyed the message of love and community and how each one of us is unique in his paintings.
Thanks David for such a super and memorable time visiting your gallery. I hope many more will come into the doors of your gallery and find one or two art pieces in their living rooms. Perhaps great conversational pieces for when having guests in their homes.
I hope you will continue to inspire people with your art and creative work.

Read moreA deeply moving gallery experience. The works exhibited at DMG Gallery in Bergen are nothing short of extraordinary. They possess a psychological depth and resonance that is rare to find; each piece seems to carry its own story while simultaneously inviting you to reflect on your own. I was profoundly touched by the art and deeply impressed by the artist’s ability to connect emotion, form, and meaning in such an evocative way. I ended up purchasing two pieces that now accompany me in my everyday life, not just as decoration, but as visual narratives that continue to unfold and grow with me. If you’re looking for artwork that does more than please the eye, art that speaks to your inner world and becomes part of your personal story, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting...
