After 3 days of photoshoots in the Frogner area, only eating in the room to save time, I wanted some real food. So, I headed towards Aker Brygge, but passed by this new sushi restaurant on the way. Got curious, and went inside.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was led to my table, seated next to the most beautiful wine cooler/fridge I have EVER seen. Maybe 4-6 cubic meters in size, it was made of transparent glass, illuminated with many different colors, making the wine bottles inside sparkle and shine. I was already sold.... đ±đ
I ordered a 20 piece combo platter for 399 NOK. Very reasonable price for that much sushi in a restaurant. When it arrived, it looked like food art that shouldn't be touched, just gazed upon in awe.... It tasted like a piece of heaven. Half of the pieces had flavored sour cream on top of them. Sounds unusual maybe, but all I can say is - TRY IT! Melted in the mouth.
To make things even more interesting, the waiter that served me turned out to be the operations manager. He shared about the other branches in Bergen, a new opening in Ă sane soon (close to home), and... Told me that if I liked the decorations in the restaurant, I really should go to the bathroom.... đđ You will understand why if you check my pictures. The pictures from the stair going down all show the level of detail put into the bathroom. Just imagine how nice the interior design upstairs is...
If you want an out-of-this-world sushi experience that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, this is the place to go. And ohhh.... They have outdoor seating with live DJ music, too... Sushi, 5th Element...

The Food tastes amazing! I had fried rice with chicken and egg. It was Really good, perfect fried! The person i was with and noodles and shrimps i think, and that also tasted amazing. We both loved the food!
Also the staff was very professional and kind. They were always looking out for us to have the best time. Great job!
Another thing i have to mention is the bathroomđ It was like a 5-star hotel bathroom, with towels after washing your hands and an own space for girls to get ready and do their makeup. It was luxurious!
The location is right next to the bus or tram which is great and a five minute walking distance from the subway/ train station at the National theater.
They have tons of different food there aswell and i think they are known for their Sushi, so next time i go there i will try that.
The only negative i would say, is that it is kind of expensive, but for the food you get and the experience, it is totally worth it!

Snublet inn pĂ„ Sumo pĂ„ Solli Plass ved en tilfeldighet, big mistake! Gikk for en Kirin og sushi de luxe for en person, nĂ„r maten kom pĂ„ bordet var tallerkenen overstrĂždd med hakkede peanĂžtter (!). Som peanĂžttallergiker er det en type mat som, inntil i dag, har vĂŠrt garantert peanĂžtt-fri - you guessed it, sushi. Det stĂ„r riktignok pn med smĂ„ bokstaver under allergener, men det blir for meg litt som Ă„ sjekke om fĂ„rikĂ„l inneholder lakrisbĂ„terâŠ. Det skal sies at servitĂžren tok dette i retur, og i stedet fikk jeg (etter eget valg) 4 x nigiri (2 laks / 2 tunfisk) og 6 maki med laks. Laksen hadde en smak av en merkelig blanding av kjĂžleskap og et diffust hint av noe tranaktig, bĂ„de i nigiri og maki-utgaven. Tunfisken fĂ„r et pluss, rett og slett fordi den var spiselig. Men det verste var tangen i maki-rullene, den var seigere enn innspurten pĂ„ 5-mila og ble liggende i en haug pĂ„ tallerkenen mens jeg desperat pirket ut laksen fra midten av makien. Usmak eller ikke, jeg hadde ikke spist pĂ„ nĂŠrmere 48 timerâŠ! ServitĂžren kom tilbake og spurte om det smakte, og jeg forklarte at dette var milevis under hva man kan forvente av en rett til tett pĂ„ kr. 400,- (Det samme som man betaler for en steak frittes med bearnaise og grĂžnnsaker hos Frenchies i nabobygget.) Etter Ă„ ha ventet pĂ„ regningen en stund hadde servitĂžren tydeligvis snakket med noen hĂžyere oppe i nĂŠringskjeden og kunne gledesstrĂ„lende fortelle meg at de hadde slĂ„tt av hele 15 % pĂ„ regningen! Med dette generĂžse avslaget kunne jeg faktisk unne meg 8 kyllingvinger pĂ„ Meny pĂ„ veien hjem! (Noe som smakte som noe Maaemo eller Noma kunne tryllet fram med tanke pĂ„ hva dette forsĂžket pĂ„ japansk cuisine hadde etterlatt av smak i munnhulen til undertegnede.) Det hĂžrer med til historien at servitĂžren forklarte inngĂ„ende om hvordan jeg skulle tipse nĂ„r han ga meg betalingsterminalen. KjĂžpte meg heller to Flax-lodd for «tipspengene» - og tapte sĂ„ det sang - der ogsĂ„. Sjelden har begrepet «styr unna» vĂŠrt mer passende for et etablissement som forsĂžksvis lager noe mennesker skal spise. Oppsummert fikk jeg to nigiri som smakte ok, to nigiri og noen smĂ„ laksebiter pirket ut fra makibitene med lei usmak og to glass Ăžl for nĂŠrmere kr. 600,- nĂ„r rabatten var fratrukket (og inkludert passende tips).
