A beautifully scenic boat ride up the famous Lysefjord. The iconic Preikestolen/Pulpit Rock (the location where Tom Cruise has his final showdown with the villain in the 6th Mission Impossible film) can been seen as well as numerous, but quite small waterfalls. The Vagabonds Cave is not really a cave, but it is fun to see how the boat manoeuvres in such a tight spot. The whole trip took a little over 4 hours and stops at various points to allow passengers to embark or disembark. You have the opportunity to disembark from the boat at Lysebotn, but only for a maximum of 15 minutes. It's a shame you can't stay for longer. There were very few people on board when we went so there was plenty of room on the upper viewing deck. The big question. Do you travel all the way to the head of the fjord or settle on the shorter trip, which takes in Pulpit Rock and the largest of the waterfalls? In retrospect, I would have saved myself £100 and gone on the shorter trip. I docked two stars because the excursion did not feel special enough for the price. £279 pounds for two adults and two children is a lot of money to spend on a 4 hour boat ride, regardless of the scenery. Had the weather been poor I would have docked another star; I would not risk booking up more than a day ahead so that you have a pretty good idea whether it is going to...

This was a cruise of 2 halves. The cruise was lovely, but quite vanilla. Sit on a boat and look at the rocks. Close ups of a cliff, a goat and a small waterfall with some good driving. The fjords looks beautiful with sheer rocks diving down into the clear waters. But part of the tour was also a pulpit rock hike. After being dropped off the cruise, a group of 20 or so were waiting at the end of a road for an hour, most people in the group phoning the office to find it shut. Eventually a bus turned up, but similarly we had a similar problem at the end.....

Having paid for a hike, no one from the company on the hike to guide us and check people were safely on the busses at the end of the day. This became a problem when that bus left early, leaving us after a further wait at the visitors centre with no way to get back. We had to use a cab which wasn't ideal. We did contact the owners who very kindly listened and then refunded our costs and explained why the problems occured, but I'd just hire a car in future... Much more in control and not having to (potentially) wait. A cruise is with the money, but just...

First we went on a Rodne Whale watching Cruise and it was the most beautiful experience, we saw and followed Orcas swimming with their babies. It was a very emotional experience seeing them in their natural habitat. We didn’t have the luck to see humpbacks but we had a very rare sighting of a sp whale!! Generally the experience was great, the staff members are legends and so much positive energy! Secondly we decided after our great day to go out again that night with them on a Northern Light boat cruise, It was our last night in Tromso and we initially weren’t planning on going on a chase as the previous night we went on a 7 hour bus NL chase and had no luck, it was exhausting. So we joined them for the cruise as it was only 2,5 hours and way more comfortable than a bus and they gave us a 20% discount because we did the whale cruise. Although it was snowing and we didn’t have our hopes up after an hour the sky suddenly opened and we saw them!!! We couldn’t believe it! It was another great experience. Rodne cruises made our last day and trip to Tromso so special. Thanks everyone for the...

It’s understandable that ship changes are reserved, but it’s unacceptable when this applies to the entire winter season. The electric-hybrid modern ship isn’t operating during winter, and the company excuses this by claiming it’s broken, despite having enough passengers on board. On the old ship, announcements were often cut off. The refreshment prices are reasonable, with tea and coffee at 30 NOK. For a €65 ticket for a 3-hour cruise, that’s a positive. However, the windows are neither cleaned nor specially maintained before cruise, so most of the time, unless you're on the terrace, you're looking through dried salt on the windows. It’s a shame they don’t clean them after each cruise. Photos taken through such windows are pointless. Thankfully, the natural beauty you come to see can be enjoyed from the upper deck, offering stunning views. This was my second cruise with this company. Two years ago, I cruised in Bergen. Prices are increasing, but unfortunately, they have no competition, and that’s a problem because they are not improving in any way.
