2 stars cause it’s not the markets fault, but we had the worst experience at Tienda Kalikai the one by the Machu pichu mural, this woman was inattentive, distracted with a telenovela on her phone and ended up charging us 240 soles instead of 24 for some shot glasses. After realizing her mistake she freaked out tried to reverse it and couldn’t she ended up giving us a cash difference for which I even felt bad but accepted after we left she tracked us down asking for the money back because she couldn’t see the transaction on her end and wanted me to check my bank account which I did and didn’t see anything on my end at this point annoyed I asked them multiple times to just charge me what I owed for the shots glasses I purchased they wouldn’t cause they were “trying to figure it out” and we had to wait, we had a flight that same night, we didn’t have time to wait so we left a friend who lives in Peru contact info in case there were any issues and left VERY UNHAPPY with the lack of professionalism this store showed, they then had the audacity to text our friend asking for the 24 soles for the shot glasses and accused me of not paying, I had my friend settle the debt, but was left in shock of how rude and unprofessional this lady was, TERRIBLE experience for tourists. Avoid this store and this woman at all costs! Attached is a picture of how they...

A large space with shop after shop after shop selling indigenous handicrafts, jewelry, paintings, clothing, carvings, musical instruments etc. The place is a bit overwhelming from the standpoint that so many of the stores all have the same merchandise on display. So, if the idea of spending several hours looking at the same items in different stores, bargaining, walking away and coming back is appealing to you, and you are not going to anywhere besides Miraflores, this is the...

This market has a huge variety of Peruvian crafts and goods. The prices won’t typically be as good as at other places in Peru but you don’t often find this much variety in one place.

If visiting Peru as a tourist, consider either going at the beginning of your trip to see what they have or at the end of the trip if you missed something along the way. If you have limited time in Lima, this isn’t a must see but is still worth a stop if you have a...

A typical market in Peru targeted at tourists. You won’t find locals shopping here, this is for tourists to buy souvenirs. The prices are ok but you’re supposed to haggle. Don’t accept the first price. Many shopkeepers will have calculators or use the calculator on your phone to communicate price if you don’t speak Spanish.
