Parroquia La Virgen Milagrosa — Attraction in Lima Metropolitan Area

Although the church is very beautiful and most ideal for our wedding destination, the lady from the front desk ruined it for us. From the beginning, she was never even helpful to give out information about the proper documentation needed for a request for a Holy Marriage. We traveled so far to come to schedule our date and try to confirm everything in a timely manner (and this was our top choice), and the treatment was not it. First of all, she dismissed the validity of our home parish, mind you, it’s a CATHOLIC CHURCH THAT BAPTIZES, CONFIRMS, AND GIVES MARRIAGES. But she said that it wasn’t really “a church” cause it doesn’t have a Saint name or the name “Parroquia”. Such an ignorant woman, she didn’t even bother to look at the magazine with the history of the Church itself which is an African American Catholic community from the Georgia, United States of America. Acting dumb, in front of us, trying to speak English to confirm if we were actually American. Her English wasn’t even good. She did not believe that my fiancé was a true American because he is Asian and laughed at his face. Mind you, he is AMERICAN and FILIPINO. She also said to him “If you’re partially fluent in Spanish, that means you actually know nothing.” An extremely rude person, don’t waste your time requesting a sacrament for this church, especially with that...

The facility is lovely and spacious. However with the covid restrictions it seems empty during the regularly scheduled Mass services. Confessions are heard during Mass which seems common in Peru catholic church's. The priest was not available before or after Mass the two times attended during my vacation. Those from the United States will quickly notice the absence of permanent deacons. They could surely use them not only to assist with Mass but in greeting guests and parishioners.
