I came in with my wife, her sisters, and her sister's 2 young kids. I'm a blonde Caucasian from the United States while my wife is a dark-skinned Peruvian. We all walked in together, and my wife and her family were at my side. My wife asked the hostess for a table for 5. She looked back at an empty table for 6, then gestured for my wife to hold on a minute, and then the hostess asked me in English if I wanted a table for one. I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why she gave me preferential treatment and didn't think we were together, but it didn't seem right to me. I don't need or want special treatment, and I certainly don't want my wife and her family being treated less than anyone else. After we sat down, my sister-in-law got up to find the bathroom. She asked a waiter where it was, and the waiter just brushed her off as if was too busy or he couldn't be bothered by showing her. I don't know if these were just a one-off kind of thing or if it should reflect on the whole business. The only thing I can do is post it to inform others and see if others experience something similar. The waiter who waited for our table was perfectly fine. He did a good job. When my wife told him what happened, he got the manager, and she did everything she could to remedy the situation, and she seemed sincere with her apology. The food was okay, not great but decent. Maybe a little below what I've come to expect in Lima, but my opinion could be clouded by...
Read moreWe found this restaurant to eat some good Italian food. The food is good but not what I was expecting from it. Peru is known for his excellent food but this one didn’t get to the culinary fame of it. My dish was spaghetti a lo Alfredo with ossobuco, the meat was super tender with a sauce but didn’t have enough flavor. My husband had asado with gnocchies in pesto sauce which it was good but the meat was a little hard. The appetizer I order didn’t do anything for me and also took forever to come to the table. Artichokes with cheese, ham and a sauce but it was filled with sauce and nothing of cheese. The bread came without butter, just toasted. The service was very good, the gentleman know his job. He was checking on the kitchen but the plates were taking longer time than expected. Maybe if the owner check was is going on in the kitchen with the time and the chef will be different. The lemonade was excellent. Overall this place is descent but with the reputation Peru has about food I won’t comeback here. Their dishes need to...

A local favorite and an absolute gem for dessert lovers! Mamma Lola offers a delightful mix of Italian classics infused with a Peruvian touch. From handmade chocolates and pastries to salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, and specialty coffees – it’s a full sensory experience.
We ordered fresh salads, mini cake pastries, a variety of chocolates, and a pistachio croissant – and every bite was fantastic. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was beautiful.
What really stood out was the friendly staff – they patiently explained the menu in English and guided us through the best picks. You can sit and enjoy your treats there, and we noticed several people ordering whole cakes to go. Clearly a go-to spot for locals and travelers alike.
