Kitesurfing & Windsurfing School in Boracay | Funboard Center Boracay — Attraction in Malay

This my 4th time at School, there Christmas '20 as could fly safely from Manila. The essence of what makes it a great place to windsurf/kite, + lessons is alive and well, the gear, the location for launching but most of all the staff under Simone's direction. I am windsurfer and even though new boards Simone keeps some older ones for those of us that like it old school - one day started with 78ltr/4.2, all rigged and when sail / board changes needed already anticipated by Gido waiting for me at the beach. He second generation in his family windsurfing. Low wind days great opportunity to learn Kite boarding from Alex! IF YOU CAN get there this season GO GO GO - Cannot stress how magical it is to be on the water in that sort of wind with only one other windsurfer & 10 kites, white beach not mobbed on the otherside if your partner not join you on the water. If you find yourself already on the Island - get lessons in the low wind as its the type of conditions that are outstanding for learning to kite surf and world class instruction! Anyway - not overselling just wanting anybody that HAS the opportunity to take advantage as I have no doubt crowds will return as the conditions that make it one of the best places in the world ain't going away & the School has found a way to keep all of its essentials in the face of truly criminal "rehabilitation" wrought...

I did basic kitesurfing course 3 years ago in other location and after the course I have surfed 5-6 times only. I didn't feel comfortable enough and then I just have dumped surfing for almost 3 years but always have dreamed to surf again it was always on my mind to get to proper kite school and to continue my training with proper instructor and this is what has happened to me in Funboard school with my instructor Elena. From the first meeting it was pleasant to interact, all the time during the course I felt absolutely safe (and I'm little bit obsessed with safety) and made good progress with skills. Elena's attitude was relaxing and assuring, she new exactly when to take control and when to give me more independency in order to build my confidence. During the course I have realized how much of skills and knowledge I was lacking from the previous training. As a result I feel confident enough to enter the water by myself to keep mastering my new skills and this is what I already did the next day after the course completion! Good condition and large selection of equipment, during a week of surfing I had had a chance to use different kite sizes, from 7 meters to 12. I have been to Boracay in January and February 2017, hanging out with the lovely people of Funboard. It's a great kitesurfing school, located at the very end of bulabog beach, facing the sea, on the left hand side.

If you are already a kitesurfer, this is the best location on the beach as is not too crowded, so you have pently of space to launch and land your kite safely. The "Beach Boys" are always ready to help you out.

All the instructor are friendly, as well as professionally IKO qualified instructors, keen to make you become a kitesurfer in less than 10 hours! The vibe created by Simone, the owner, and the whole staff made me feel at home. My everyday sessions ended with lunch and dinner at the bar of the school. Bautiful healthy meals were made from fresh daily for a very competitive prices. Grazie Simone and the staff that works with her for the hospitality.
