SMOKE DONENOO KOREAN BBQ — Restaurant in Malay

We went there for a late lunch and besides us, only one othertable was occupied. Sangyupsal is where meat is thrown on a hit plate, cooked and eaten. So besides that, and the quality of meat, there is not much difference. So the major difference could be the service. During our dining experience, we felt that the establishment was very thrifty. Everytime they brought a tray of meat it was less and less.

That made us extremely uncomfortable to ask for more, although we were paying for unlimited. This should never ever happen in a place that offered unlimited. Not once did a person come and ask us how we were doing or if we wanted a refill. Yes, we did eat 4 servings but still left hungry from this place.

This could well be a one off experience and you might have a great experience but I had to put out our experience here.

As for the menu, the unlimited pork snagyupsal is P499 and the beef and pork one is P699. The sides are nice but very few.

There are many reviewers says this is the best Snagyupsal in Boracay and they all have mostly one review to their name. So most probably fake. Terrible serving attitude made us regrettably upset and made us feel like we were asking too much and we finally gave up.

The staff are very nice and pleasant when they attend to the table. However they prefer to just group together at the counter and chit chat rather than tend to tables. A mysterious 15% service tax was added while the menu states 10%. Overall if you do not feel guilty for asking more trays to eat, go and eat here as they are obliged to...

Friendly service with quality of food and meat meeting the best standards. Had the Mul Neangmyeon (cold noodle soup), samgyeopsal (pork), tteokbokki, beef. The meat cuts - pork and beef - premium quality from Korea.

We love Korean food and have had Korean in Seoul and Sydney. Donenoo hits all the highest marks when it comes to quality Korean food. BBQ uses real charcoal to grill the meat, which gives the most authentic taste to samgyeopsal and beef. Meat quality is premium cuts imported from Korea. The banchan/ side dishes are authentic - home made kimchi is sooo good. Mul Neangmyeon is perfect - refreshingly light - sweet, tangy, tasty cold broth with chewy noodles and served with vinegar and mustard. Tteok-bokki: spicy and chewy with fish cakes and onions - soooo good.

Service: staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Everything was so clean and spotless.

Set-up: BBQ on each table has been set up to highest standards. Fan ventilation/ smoke removal is great and even at busiest time, it is not smokey at all.

People: Owners are Luna and Lee and they can often be found dining at Donenoo. They are really caring and expect the highest standards from their staff to give the best service. They order the best quality of meat, vegetables to provide the best meals. Really respect them or their efforts in continuing to give the best Korean food in Boracay.

A really excellent Korean restaurant for lovers of Korean food and great...

So we got the lunch promo for 499 pp (for three people). The pork belly itself was not bad, it’s pretty decent. So the lunch promo is unlimited, therefore we decided that it’s pretty worth it to try. They gave us around 24 pcs of pork belly for first two plates. However, after that when we asked for more, they legit just gave us 8 sloppy pcs of pork belly as u can see in the picture attached. Like for real we couldn’t believe it. We told the staff about this, they were not that bothered and attentive nor did they apologise. I am just saying that if you are this stingy then why even have this lunch promo at the first place???? The staff in yellow shirt looked like she was forced to work, so sloppy. But when it was the time to pay bill, she was working pretty happily. Moreover, it felt as tho they were showing attitude to us for e.g. they gave us a lot of coins for the change like alotttt even tho I asked if they could give cash instead but they just said “oh cannot”. Overall, if I had a choice I would give this restaurant a minus rating. The food is okay for the price but the staffs looks constipated and forced to work.
