I stayed in Boracay, in Bolabog, at Isla Kite for two weeks between the end of January and the beginning of February 2025, and the experience was amazing. The conditions were fantastic, and the people at Isla were very kind and fun.
I only brought my 8-meter kite, but since the wind was sometimes lighter, I decided to buy a 12-meter F-One Bandit from their store, which is an amazing kite. Now I want to get the same one but in 8 meters.
I also took WingFoil lessons with Ben, who’s an excellent instructor. They have all the necessary equipment to learn, and the conditions are perfect for practicing, with stable wind and easy waters—highly recommend it!
The whole staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The guys on the beach were super kind, assisting with launching, landing, packing up the kites, and even helping me untangle lines when needed.
We also did a downwind trip with Raf, which was awesome. We took a boat to a nearby island and kited back to the main beach with a group, exploring the island along the way.
Special thanks to Ulrich, Jen, Francois, Dindin, Gretchen, Angelo, and Nhoy Nhoy for all their kindness and support during my stay.
I highly recommend Isla Kite for equipment storage and kiting. Their restaurant also serves great food at good prices. I’m already looking forward to coming back, maybe at the...
Read moreI've been learning to kite surf for about 2,5 years, I've been unlucky with the wind quite some many times and almost gave up hope. I'm so happy that I can finally kite well now with just 2 days on the water with an instructor! The best thing is that there is a walkie-talkie taped to your helmet, so you are in constant contact with your instructor, which means you get tips and tricks while riding. This speeded up my development massively!
On my first day of practicing I was able to ride and on my second day I was able to go upwind. Dennis was a great and patient instructor and I never felt too much or as if I wasn't picking things up fast enough.
Before I came to the Philippines I was in contact with Jen for 2 weeks to keep tabs on the wind. The contact was great throughout this period and Jen turns out to be even lovelier in person. Everyone in the kite school is very friendly and happy to help and go the extra mile. Also great thanks to Steph for helping me out with the little things like putting spf on and keeping my valuables safe.
I've taken lessons with more than 4 kite schools in the last 2,5 years and Isla Kitesurfing is the best by far. If you are going to the Philippines and want to learn to kitesurf, I highly recommend Isla...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I took a shared beginner course for our first 9 hours, split over a few days due to the weather. They arranged for Erkan, a German-speaking instructor, who was available for us every single day! Jen from Isla Kitesurfing kept us updated via text about lesson times and wind conditions, which was super helpful. Also the entire organization was great, we could arrange things upfront and also pay via banktransfer!
Even though you could technically finish in 3 days, we appreciated the extra time since wind conditions can be unpredictable. The team really took great care of us, making sure we had the right equipment to learn. The walkie-talkies were a game changer once we got the hang of it and could go a bit further on the board! 😂
In total, we clocked in 12 hours, and it was so much fun! My boyfriend is already able to turn, and I can ride from one side to the other! I'd absolutely do it all over...
