Arrived at hotel.Things seemed okay. Got welcome drink and all and decent check in vibes. The check in area is exposed to outdoor elements always so very muggy and warm in that area so it's actually uncomfortable. And then right outside the openly exposed area is the smoking area so people's smoke can end up in the lobby which is even more annoying.Location overall is about 5-10 minutes from a beach. They were painting and doing construction in the hallway and room across from us. Constant loud noises during the day ( I know you are supposed to be outside enjoying but sometimes late-nights happen) and there was no communication of this or offer to move to a different floor. It smelled very bad on that floor so no peace and quiet. They didn't apologize for the inconvenience or even try to make it up in other ways. Booked a room that is advertised as sofa bed. The soda bed size is an actual joke - if you have a small child then sure maybe. Shower kind of floods due to poor drainage. Air con actually works well. Bed is soso. Safe works well. Complimentary water bottles. First night tried to go roof top bar and it was closed within "open time" had to ask them to go up and open it and serve us drinks. Not sure why but they often ask us to decide breakfast the night before which is annoying because choosing breakfast is usually a in the moment kind of thing. Breakfast was average. Pool didn't seem to be well maintained and cleaned so didn't take a dip in it. Cleaned room but forgot to leave some smaller towels that were included at check in.Continuing along the lines of poor communication. Was called the night before check out and asked what time are we checking out tomorrow and they didn't provide any context so I felt like "this seems kind of rude and pushy to ask us what time we are checking out." turns out we left early the next morning and from my understanding - they offer a packaged breakfast if you don't have time to eat at the restaurant so you can get it to go. So I was even more annoyed because if they said that at the beginning then it would actually make sense why they asked and I would have had a happy tummy in the morning.Long story short. Average hotel and rooms. Nothing memorable. Unfortunately the service and amenities and communication was severely lacking so this will be a one and...
Read moreStayed in the hotel for two nights. Arrived in the late evening after a long day of flights. The fridge in the room was switched off (what for especially if you wait for the guests?). I asked the staff to switch it on and the problem was solved out quite quickly. There were only 2 bath towels in the room (nothing to the face or hands). Also the rules of the hotel about towels - pool towels for extra charge (what is this?) 50 pesos / each (it was a little shock..). The problems started in the late evening of the 2nd day. About 11 pm someone downstairs started to make up the dishes and that was so loud that I can’t asleep until he finished. In the early morning (7:30 am) the loud guests came to reception. The children screamed, the adults had loud dialogues.. no one on reception asked them to keep calm on such early morning. In our room (202) everything that happened around reception or restaurant was clearly heard. During the breakfast I mentioned those things to the staff and they tried to calm down the situation and presented a fruit platter. That was cute and we were very pleased until the check out procedure. The receptionist asked the colleague to check the room and in a minute he called from the room and told that there’s smell and we smoked there. I told that we never do it inside the room (my husband is a smoker, me not. He respects my health and the rules and never smokes in the prohibited areas). The proof of the staff was that finished cigarette pack was inside the rubbish bin. I was furious. I came back to the room with the lady from reception and asked her about the smell. She was doubting. There was really smell in the room - but not the cigarette, it had a smell from the bath (like ammonia). I am really sure that the staff tries to get extra profit for the smoking fines from guests. Gave One extra star for barman in the pool bar only. Not recommend...
