A lot of things to see. Lots of items if varying qualities. Some sold as knock offs. T shirts average 100 pesos. Prices vary depending on the store and store area. Always ask for a discount. That's the rule. Bulk buying gets larger discounts. Majority of the stores sell clothes. But you'll find stores selling toys, hardware items, caps and hats, umbrellas, school supplies, towels, phones and related items, cctv systems, motorcycle parts and accessories, dried flowers. On the third floor of the two buildings you'll find the food court. Before the pandemic all the stores were open. It's sad to see that today Nov 13 half of the stalls are still closed including my favorite stall selling roast duck rice. There's a noticeable increase in the number of shoppers now that the alert level is down and Manila has removed the face shield requirement. The corridors get crowded. I'm pleased to see however that compared to a few months ago that only half of the people in 999 were compliant with proper mask wearing now it's about 80 to 90%. Expect the place to get more crowded...
Read more999 shopping mall is composed of two buildings connected by four walkways, two on the second floor and two on the third floor. It is more convenient and safe for PWDs, senior citizens and families with children to shop at the building between C.M.Recto Ave. and Soler St. because there are several elevators and most of the time all escalators are functioning properly. The building between Soler St. and Felipe II St. is more of a challenge for PWDs, senior citizens and families with children because there's only one pair of elevators and the escalators from ground to second floor and vice-versa are not in operation since mid December 2017. There are also more loiterers at the food court and some of them are perverts ogling diners and passersby salaciously or they touch/lean on the backs of female diners who are seated behind them since the seating arrangement is back to back. Although there are security personnel and CCTV cameras, shoppers should still be alert and cautious. Overall, it's a great place to shop for bargains but you always have to be...
Read moreWent here with some local friends from between 1500 to 1900. That was a awesome experience. There was so many stores, stalls, and different items it would take an entire day to walk the mall and surrounding shops outside. Then the next day you would still find new things.
It was interesting moving around because the stalls in the mall are close together and there was a lot of people shopping. Plus, I am 6ft 2in tall and fluffy like a teddy bear as I was told haha. So I had to becareful of knocking things down walking in between stalls.
I was informed to be extremely cautious about my items because of pickpockets. We had nothing taken or any negative experience during this trip but even my friends were concerned about their stuff. Just wanted to add that for caution because if locals tell you something it's usually in your best interest to act...
