We had to do errands around Sta. Cruz so we had to park at Lucky Chinatown Mall. It was lunch time so we were looking for a place to dine. We found King Chef inside the mall so we chose this restaurant because we were craving some Chinese food.
As we were waiting for our food, we were served free peanuts and hot tea. They were very fast in preparing the food as it arrived even before we finished the peanuts.
The breaded pork chop rice topping was huge. You should order this if you're starving. The breading to meat ratio was perfect and it came with its own separate sauce. We also ordered sweet and sour pork and it was also good. Another order was tausi spareribs and it was also good. Their servings here are bigger than other restaurants so you're really getting your money's worth.
They also have a happy hour for dimsum from 2PM until 5PM. We were there until past 2PM but decided not to order dimsum anymore because we were already really full.
I will surely be going back to King Chef, maybe in another branch as I seldom go to Lucky Chinatown.

Read moreGreat restaurant... food was very good. Everybody loved the HK spareribs, and the fried wantons were the best I ever had. Other items we ordered were also good. The rice we ordered Chao fan was dry ( why I only gave 4 stars ) , but everything else is very good. The entire staff was amazing, attentive, and looked happy to be serving us. They also responded fast to any request. They even do repacking of leftovers at a station they pull up to your table.
SECOND VISIT
Should of been 5 stars Food was Excellent and the service is extraordinary. One of the best restaurants I have been to in the Philippines. We were a party of 6 and each dish was really really good. The shrimp platter you see in the pictures was a promotion that we got for one ( 1 ) peso. Yes you read that right one peso. The reason I rated less than 5 stars was the way they packages the leftovers. Food was placed in a box with a sheet of plastic underneath but nothing on top so by the time we got home most of the sauce was gone and boxes...

The food presentation is classy and creative. They also added unique touches to their recipes. Servings are generous and are great for groups.

My top picks are Spareribs with eight spices which has flavorful, natural spices and the Steamed Gourd with Seafood which has a perfect mix of scallops, shrimp, and gourd. If you're a fan of an appetizer rich in ingredients, the King’s Special Crabroe Soup is a must try. If you're a fan of vegetable salad or lumpiang ubod and of sweet and spicy sauce, the Shrimp Salad Cups is perfect for your taste. The Crispy Lapu-Lapu in Pomelo Sauce and the Drunken Shrimp are great for big groups.

The thing you shouldn't miss? Their 3D gelatin dessert! It’s a must-see and you almost don't want to eat it! Too beautiful...
