While this is not an overly fancy place, it certainly feels like a very well appointed period arcade with a nice collection of arcade games and pinball tables. There is a good selection of classic games like Space Invaders, Galaga, Galaxian, Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, Defender, Frogger, etc. (Notable absences would be Pong, Asteroids, Battlezone and other very early Atari games; some games like Tempest run on other than original hardware). There's a huge collection of fighters/brawlers including some that seemed rather obscure to me and the walls are lined with dozens of driving games, many of them multiplayer. If you like shooting action games these are represented as well, including a rather new Luigi's Mansion (unfortunately shut down during my second visit). There's a small selection of mechanical two-player "hands-on" games. On some machines the original CRTs show their age but I guess it's rather hard to get good replacements these days. I played a lot of machines I had not seen before and some I had not played in a long time. Playing period home ports lets you forget how unforgiving some of these games were (try Defender with its crazy controls). With everything set to free play at least those machines offering continues allow you to explore a lot more than accessible by skills alone. Definitely worth a visit! Admission is very reasonable. Reserve a couple of hours and go for a pass...
Read moreI thought it was a literal museum. It is in a way, but all the games are playable and included in your price. Play one for an hour straight (for 40 złoty per adult) or all day (60 złoty for the unlimited pass). Kiddos are 25 złoty for an hour and MAYBE 30 for the unlimited (can’t remember).
They have beer and soda available and somewhere close to 80 pinball machines to choose. The hour flew by and we found ourselves wanting more time.
This is a great choice for kiddos who are tall enough and old enough to understand the basic premise of pinball (they had a couple arcades, too, like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter). With everything being entirely underground, it was a super cool dungeon vibe—kind of like being a kid in a basement with a bunch of games around.
Each machine has the date of production, the company who manufactured it, and the designer, so the museum part is entirely true.
All in all, this was a great visit and we might event end up going again despite our...
Read moreI enjoyed Kraków Pinball Museum so much during my visit to the city that I had to return for a second time before I left! I initially paid 40 PLN for an hour, but there are so many machines that I returned later in the week for the 60 PLN all-day ticket. (Note: You do not need to pay to use each machine after this fee - it is all included).
The staff speak English well and are wonderful and polite, as other people have written. There is information on nearly all of the machines regarding the manufacturer's name and year of production, and I am sure it will create the feeling of nostalgia as well as an exciting introduction to pinball for all ages. As well as pinball machines, you can also play Mario, Pac-Man, some driving and shooting games, and my favourite: Mortal Kombat (both the original and UMK3). It was a great experience to meet people and play for the first time on the legendary machine! I would highly recommend visiting...
